Sonic takes time out of his schedule to help the needy. Built with Multimedia Fusion 1.5, this was my entry to the recent SFGHQ Mini Game contest 3. This is a minigame with a new BASIC sonic engine i just recently made, which I will release for beginners.

OK man, there's some big issues here. 1: The storyline is Not well thought out at all, and it's misleading as well . One thing, is that Tikal's father is too lazy to get a job, and instead he wants Sonic (The HERO) to steal People's money. It's dollar bills when it should be rings! It just doesn't make sense! Image

Another thing is that the Echidna guards have wallets. Why not sacks? It would make much more sense! Also what I'm really weirded out about is that Sonic ends up in Guatemala! What the?

Also there's one BIG no-no when it comes to click games. Pre-fab graphics. The money sign at the top is pre-fab. Owwie. Also, when it comes to sprite ripping, It should NEVER be done, wether or not you can draw.

Hmm. I also noticed that the Echidnas are pretty unintelligent. One thing that's quite annoying is that when you come up on the Echidnas from behind, there's a good chance they'll catch you doing it. It's a bit strange is that all the Echidnas have 50 dollars on them. It's like a co-incidence. Image Overall, It's not very well done, but I can't give the game one star, because I just can't give those things to people.

I didn't have any of the same issues as above...

My main beef was that the game wasn't very fun to play. I thought the story was kinda funny.

Kudos for the engine, but it wasn't compatible for the level design. What makes sonic games so fun is that you keep going where in this one you have to wait until the guards are moving... it really breaks up the game play. Good effort.

Interesting game dude. Really impressive sonic engine for one, twas very solid and did the job well

However i really didnt like the idea of having to steal money. Not that it was a bad concept, hell i thought it was great when i first was told about it (its all about keepin in fresh in my opinion) but the way in which it was executed was abit... frustrating.

I kept getting caught and reset back to $50! AND $2000 on the first level was just waaaay to much effort to keep me going.

nice attempt though

Sorry, but there's not actually anything fun to this game. It started with the installer. Then, I didn't get the whole guard thing. I got closer and closer until they started moving, then they caught me. I had no idea what was going on.

There are also little, annoying mistakes like the parallax background always moving, the ground appearing to move instead of you when you jump and things like that that a player just can't help but notice.

The Sonic engine isn't even a Sonic engine unless, of course, you've got some loops and wall runs, but from the look of the beginning of this game, I doubt it.

With a few corrections and a different slew of characters, this could be decent. As a Sonic game, though, there is simply no hope. Unless you make him use his super sonic speed to rob people. I'd play that.

thanks guys, i had to rush in making the engine, and It takes me a long time to think of actual catchy concepts. I'm working on the engine, and I'll factor all of that into the next update And Kazuma, that's what I was going for but I had to rush, thanks for the advice.

I thought the game was pretty good, can use some work but it's presentable.(it's a mini game after all), don't listen to that guy up there about the pre-fab graphics.. You take those mmf liibrary graphics and do whatever the hell you want.. that's why they are there.

Sure they're there for a reason, but If you really want more positve ratings then Original artwork is the way to go.

It's not so much that. If the game is solid and fun, ripped graphics are fine. This one simply isn't fun.

You should really pay attention to what isn't good about the games you rate poorly. Most of the games I've played with ripped graphics sucked, sure, but it was because the games were glitchy and poorly made.

Sometimes I focus on graphics, sometimes I focus on gameplay. I rated the graphics. If I rated the Gameplay I guess it wasn't horrible. It was a bit monotonous, But it didn't suck. I'd rate it 3 stars. I wish I could edit my ratings.

You should always focus on the game as a whole. Picking out one feature and grading the game on that isn't fair.

It's like saying, "Oh, Super Mario Galaxy was the best platformer I've ever played. Beautiful graphics, fun gameplay and interesting levels. But you couldn't play as Yoshi. 1 out of 5 stars."

The bad things should weigh it down, yes, definitely, but only focusing on one thing is a bad way to go.

Yes, I suppose I should've payed a bit more attention. I apoligize for the ratings.
