It's coming up to Easter and for some reason somebody has stolen ALL of the Easter Eggs! Oh no! Fortunately, as his rocket took off a load of them spewed out. You must now collect these eggs to beat him!

Now for the gameplay.

This game is a simple platformer, only with hints of Spyro the Dragon and the Crystal Maze thrown in. You must collect eggs. There are 200 eggs in each of the three lands. These levels are connected by a central hub, whereby you can save your game from. Don't worry if you don't get all 200 eggs first time, you can revisit a level, but by doing that it is reset and you must collect all 200 eggs again! There aren't really 200 eggs, they are split up like this;
BLUE - worth 1
GREEN - worth 2
YELLOW - worth 5
RED - Worth 10 (Obviously the caramel-centred one)
You unlock new areas once you collect enough egg-value. There is a rocket ready to take off after you have collected 400 or more eggs... but BE WARNED! By doing so, you will only have 200 shots with your laser cannon for the final fight. It is best to collect as many as possible from the three lands, and if you hit the magical 600 egg mark, you will have infinite ammo. How cool is that! Look out, though- each world contains different enemies for you to fight against. And remember... watch out for the windows.
That's about all there is to know about this game. You can only save in the central HUB, and if you wish to enter a level it will be reset, forcing you to collect everything again. Unless you haven't died since the last time you visited, in which case... feel free!

Awesome game! The music was easy to listen to, and the level design was great.

The animation on the bunny was a little stiff, not that I have much room to talk, even so it is enough to knock your score down one star.

On a side note you might want to host your game file somewhere else, file front is closing permanently on Monday.

Well, the game was pretty good. But it's one of those games that is just so generic that it's just totally uninteresting to play. Maybe others will enjoy it more than me but I prefer games with a little more than collecting and jumping on heads.

That's what most of the N64 games I owned beeing young were about. I personally have good memories of searching for every banana, coins, stars, jiggys & honey combs.

As for this game, while it looks rushed on some aspects, I find the overall to be very enjoyable.

Normally basic old games have charm though, every part of this feels generic and the music (whilst the best part of the game) seemed way out of place.

And for some reason the controls keep defaulting to WASD whenever I get a game over. Seems a bit odd using WASD control in a game that doesn't use the mouse.

This game had the limitation of being run in a single frame, and the only way I could reset the eggs and stuff every time you died was by resetting the game. I'm sorry about that, but it was essential to do for the competition. You can find out more about the problems I faced with this game, and how I overcame them, here.

And you don't think Lil Pirate was in any way generic? Sorry if it offends you, but that's a pretty hypocritical statement you made.

I actually found this game enjoyable to play during earth hour, turning out the lights in my room had a bordom effect on me. It also had a pretty stable/bug free engine, which makes a refreshing change from the majority of games/upcoming games on the site.

So lil' pirate is generic? You do realise you're only basing it on your own warped perception where the less features a game had the better it is?

I know you don't like me. I'll take your opinions seriously when you show some integrity and stop letting personal relations get in the way of your ratings.

btw i finished the game now. It was alright but with little variety although in the time it took to make you made a pretty solid game 3kliksphilip.

Thanks. I know this game isn't any where near perfect. In fact, it wasn't going to include eggs at all, but then I decided to add a kind of Spyro the Dragon points system to unlock new areas. I'd like to expand on this game type some time. I thought I'd hate making this sort of game, but working to certain limitations (1 frame, 24 hours) made me more imaginative in the approaches I took to things.

For some reason my laptop just couldnt run even teh lower quality version

It ran but the lag was just annoying. I dont think its anythign to do with your game i think its my laptop lol from what i did play it was nice, cheerful and a good game ^^

Very nice to play indeed. Engine was smooth and non-buggy, I loved the collection of the eggs and the exploration. All I could say is that the areas could use some work, so they don't look all the same. Nevertheless, it was a joy to play. (music was sweet too)
