Well I applied for a job yesterday, getting an interview on Friday... so once MMF comes out, I'll be getting it no doubt. Chances are, if it’s reasonable, I'll get developer.
From sounds of it, developer will be $299 which is about £160 - a lot of money for a piece of software I think. I'll probably decide on the day which one I buy though
$299 is a nice price if they are allowing no royalty strings, because it's more of an investment, how ever... for Clickteam to expect people who don’t plan on selling games, to pay a price that high, is rather crazy indeed. Standard should have all the features of developer, with the exception of royalties, and some minor additions and exclusive extensions, just like MMF 1.5 vs MMF Pro.
Trying to convince people to spend a higher price, just to get features then originally expected to get in MMF2 Standard, wont work to well. If people had $299, they would have gotten MMF 1.5 Pro. Giving MMF2 Developer a lot more features then Standard, isn't going to magically make all your customers have $299 to spend on a program, especially if they don’t plan to make any money to break even after they buy it.
