Bascially you have to surf of the right hand side of some place (cinnebar island?) and you'll get into glitchy fights because the game doesn't quite know what to do. You'll fight pokemon from the last area you were at. However if you speak to the old man at the start that teaches you how to throw pokeballs the game will let you fight against missingno. and some other random pokemon (i caught a few level 144 mewtwos) i forget how it is triggered but one of your item slots messes up and gives you loads of whatever item is there. If they're rare candies you can level up your pokemon to crazy levels. .

I got one because- the screen is brighter than my Dell 2007WFP and my iMacs display. And its not a problem with mine, Ive played on my brothers and his m8s dave new black on he got from curry's yesterday, and the touch screen on my original DS is slightly faster. n/a

Some original DS models had the newer screen but they weren't released for a while. I did have a Lite model that used the old diagonal touchscreen style though, maybe that's what you have Adam? Anyone wanna trade me one of those for something? So you've beat the elite four, traded some awesome pmon over from sapphire and you think you'd do well with proper online battles............Wrong!! Look up EV training if you don't know what it is . basically you can control how your pokemon's stats grow by fighting certain wild pmons! Depressing. bah.
