Not that I'll be asking this every month or anything, but I'd like to know what the average computer spec is that click users use.

This will be very helpful to me when I make my next game, because I've been criticised in the past for my games requiring a mouse, or a resolution of 1024 x 768, etc. I'm sure that others could find it useful as well. Here's mine

Core 2 Duo 5200 (2.5 Ghz)
2 GB Ram
ATI 4850
1680x1050 resolution
Keyboard [X]
Mouse [X]
Headset [X]
Console-like controller [ ]
8 mbps connection

Core 2 Duo L7500 1.6 Ghz
3GB RAM
Integrated graphics (Pleh. )
1024x768 resolution
Windows 7
And of course... a mouse and keyboard.

It dies with most games that aren't click-based.

A controller adapter for PS2 and Gamecube controllers (<3)

Just a suggestion, but it might have been quicker to upload a scrolling 1024x768 test application with an FPS counter and asked people to post their results. You may feel different but I don't ever feel like reading the specs of other people's computers.

I don't have the specs handy, but I'm pretty sure my computer could handle a klik game running at 1024x768 but I'd encourage you to use HWA if you can. My maximum resolution is 1280x800. I have a PS2 adaptor for joypads but don't use it often and it certainly doesn't use a USB socket when it's not in use.

I haven't had a problem with your games so far. I quite liked The Bat Sweeper's use of the mouse and keyboard, and don't mind the higher than average resolution of The Almost Heaven Crisis.

That's a brilliant idea!
Someone should make a new klik benchmark tool
I know someone posted one ages ago, but I don't think there's been one since the HWA version of MMF2 came out.

And if they wanted to go all out, they could make one that works behind the scenes... somehow. People could put the frame at the beginning of their games. If the index doesn't match what the developer has decided is the minimum, it displays a message and exits!

Yeah, a benchmarking tool is a good idea. However, it wouldn't be able to tell what the maximum resolution is, or which peripherals are included. But yeah, a benchmark would be good.

It's a nice little program. Perhaps you could shorten the time it takes to finish the last bit, that repeating picture of the lady began to get a bit old. A bit like the lady in question, actually.

--------------------------------
Klik Benchmark v1.0
--------------------------------

Fastloop Benchmark - 15 (low is good)

Great, we have this bit sorted. But now people are forgetting to post which peripherals they have. Does everybody have a mouse? I know it sounds kind of silly to ask, but I remember somebody criticising a game in the past because it was hard to use on a trackball or what ever.

Brilliant app, Sketchy

I have a laptop but 99% of the time I use a mouse with it. I wouldn't complain about a game requiring a mouse if I happened to play it while one wasn't available to use.

I don't have a video card in it atm so that explains the graphics mark.

I have a gt6600 or something that I could pop in and I also have an 8800 ultra OC, but don't see the point in the ultra since the rest of my system bottlenecks it ;-;.
