I think I remember reading the reasons for using Lacewing over the older options before, but I can't find any info on it.

Can anyone point out to me why Lacewing is better?

You can actually talk to the guy whose making it and communicate with him, problems you're having, that are potentially related to the extension, and he'll fix them asap. It also supports a lot more functionality like maintaining a connection across frames and sending stacks. The way it functions is incredibly similar to Moo, it just does a better job at it.

My main reasoning for preferring it over Moo is using a python server instead of klik-based software. When you run a server through MMF2, it can only process as many messages as loops per second that the application is actually making, which by default is 55. You can increase it but not by too much without crushing processor performance.
With a python server, it can handle thousands of loops because it's not as restricted as an MMF2 application. This means the server processes a lot more messages at once, and handle a much bigger server with a lot more information passing over it, without lagging due to server-side application instability.

When using an MMF2 server, the server will usually begin lagging long before the network bandwidth is ever capped off. Meanwhile with a python server, I've yet to hit any lag caps for anything I've done. Then again, I've never actually STRESS tested it with more then a few people, but it just goes to show that if nothing else, the capability to use a python server is the biggest excuse for using Lacewing in my opinion.

Thats a really good argument, and thanks for pointing that out, Brandon .

I don't think I will be needing a python server for what I'm doing, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks

Me and Jamie are still working on Lacewing, so no worries. The next build will be optimized for MMF2, and this will be especially great for MMF2 servers, so there's something to look forward to
