New Demo - Zombie Killaz
News posted 25th November, 2005 by Assault Andy
Being a big fan of zombie games and movies, this new demo by TPK has caught my eye. It has a solid engine, and some great graphics, Zombie Killaz is still a work in progress so show your support.

Comments from the Author:This game is going to be an action-kill-as-many-as-you-can-adventure game with zombies. The movement style in this version is very restrictive, because I was trying to get a realistic movement (most people can't just turn the opposite direction and move that way once they're already in mid-air. You start off with a Revolver-type gun, but there will be ten weapons total that you can use (five projectile and five melee).

"most people can't just turn the opposite direction and move that way once they're already in mid-air"

Most people can't double jump either.. but it's still damn useful. Sometimes you have to ignore real-life's boundaries to keep from hindering your gameplay. Most people can't jump their own height (or higher) but it allows for a greater ammount of flexability when it comes to obstacle placement and a greater ammount of play area..

Yeah, you especially need to ignore those rules in a platform type game. I know I can't jump 6 feet in the air.

I guess your right, considering most peoples heads are not as big as their bodies (as is the character in my game). I just want my game to be fun and different, but maybe I should explore some other possibilities (I'm noticing that the action might be to slow-paced if I put too many realistic boundaries in this game). Thanks for the tips.

I've run into that problem before as well, it's all about a good balance.
