This week's GOTW is the R-Shmup Engine by Guillermo, which I should point out isn't an engine at all, but more a fully-fledged editor for creating side scrolling shoot-em-up type games. I remember when every game genre ended in "em-up". But that's because I'm old.
Someone else is going to have to do GOTW for the next couple of weeks, because I'm pulling my computer to pieces again and moving to a new flat in Boston. Until then, the choices are:
