News posted 21st April, 2007 by Flava
There were two games for you to vote for, and you chose a clear winner. Taking a massive 30+ votes was Fisu - eat or get eaten created by MJK. Congratulations MJK.

So, maybe this week you have more games for vote for? Don't count on it.. It's another two-game GOTW this week - we've had a few demos and shareware games submitted, but for some reason they're not allowed. So here are the games up for the 231st game of the week:

YUKD
Fairies v1.0

General Poll:

Should Shareware/Demos be allowed to compete in the GOTW:

- Yes

Are you questioning the rules?

@Phreddy - I didn't make the rules up, so it doesn't mean I agree with them. In my opinion, shareware games should be allowed - people put in as much effort into shareware games as they do with freeware game. But then again I can see why they aren't allowed, because we're generally a freeware site.

Demos definately shouldn't be allowed though, because then the creator has two chances of winning GOTW - once with a demo, and once with the full version.

Yay! Thanks to all Fisu-lovers for voting.

IMO, shareware games should definitely be allowed. There's no difference which license the game is using as far as it's enjoyable to play. Then, if TDC users won't appreciate them, or find the unregistered version too limited, the vote will show it (in lower vote numbers) - there's no need to control this process from outside.

Well deserved GOTW.

Shareware games aren't allowed, because generally a person submits a limited version of the full game as a download. It might be time limited, or just have many features stripped out - which to me is as good as being a demo.
