We have the results and the winner of this week's GOTW is not GOTW Generator but Puzlox Blox 2 by Johan Hargne (Wartagon). In joint second place is Spacefest by thewreck and GOTW Generator by LIJI. Well done to all you guys and Johan Hargne (Wartagon) earns himself a GOTW tag.
Not a huge choice this week but we've got two games and two tutorials available to vote on this week so give them all a try and report back with what you believe is your choice for this week's GOTW.
Where was this? I remember reading a thread about LIJI asking people to vote for his game but nothing about Adam asking people to make accounts. I'm not good with tracking topics in the forum and I noticed that the Bad LIJI thread has gone so if someone wouldn't mind telling me what happened I'd appreciate that as I sure as hell missed the whole thing.
I did check the IP addresses and there was no duplicate votes from anyone. (Well there was but that was from Csar and his brother) I can't tell from any accounts being created at different computers which is why I thought there was something that I didn't know between the two of you. So therefore unless I get proof there was cheating involved I'm not going to do anything about this.
Besides, from what I read it seems that LIJI did ask select people to vote for his game which is practically cheating and is lucky he got away with that because that isn't allowed.
And I only allowed UNIWARS in on the exception that there was rarely any games but tutorials this week. Also because it's a really good game as well. Yet if it comes to it and the other admins don't agree I'll remove it and give everyone their vote back so they can choose something different.

I honestly do not think Adam would even attempt to cheat. He is a respectable clicker of a high reputation. it just doesn't fit. Me and Adam simple had a conversation and he went onto the subject of his game being in the GOTW, so I decided to check out how TDC is doing and download a few GOTW games. That's how Puzlox got my vote cause it simply rocks.
TDC UPDATE: SCRAP GOTW and make it GAME OF THE MONTH. That way it wont be such a small selection of games and apps with crap like GOTW generator in it.
Adam before calling other stuff crap try and program something yourself.
The GOTW Generator is an humorous example of how to manually render text, applying effects to it and antialiasing it in MMF2.
Recreate this without the use of Text Blitter, Adam.
I don't quite agree with all that Ploo said there.. lol, but seriously guys - it's a freakin GOTW award! So what!?
I voted for the best game and in my opinion it was Puzlox 2, and I voted for it right away... Those who try and cheat GOTW, are even sadder than those who can't take losing GOTW.
But overall - forget it - make a game that will undoubtedly win the attention of the majority of people that week and you're done!
I had ths crazy dream one time where people on the dc were commented about the games and apps on the front page and why they are good or bad. I must admit the forum drama is pretty funny sometimes but it should stay in in the forums. Just sayin' is all. I think the rightful winner won by the way.
LIJI, that's because you voted for the previous GOTW just before it changed (or something). I couldn't either. So please don't make it look like we're trying to ban you or something.
@Broomie: It's probably me and my roommate DaDDe and not my brother(I don't have a brother), we use the same connection. We used to make games together(Blast Radius series) so you shouldn't be worried, it's not a fake account .
I wonder how much extra work would it need for Clubsoft and the admins to actually have sort of a GOTM award as has been suggested. I hardly ever have time for TDC so I don't exactly to what lengths has it been discussed earlier.

And yeah, hopefully some people will learn to lose as they grow up (not trying to be patronizing - especially because I know I can't lose in a respectable manner ). Repeating others' thoughts anyway: Get over it, it's not like some über1337 would have emptied your bank account or anything!

I think this was already discussed at length on the forums before, and I think it's a great idea. You would have to choose from 1 of 4 games that month for the GOTM award. The problem is WHEN should this vote take place? During the 1st week of the next month? If you gave it a full week like the GOTM poll should get it would interfere with the 4th week's GOTW poll. Unless you just chose games released during the 1st three weeks that month for the GOTM award.
Or...you could wait till the first week of the next month, so by Dec 7th you'd find out who won the November GOTM. You'd have to wait, but it'd be more prestigous, so it'd be worth it.
It's impossible to stop people cheating completely but I guess there are some measures to cut it down a bit... Though it would need activity from admins, who have probably too much to do anyway.
If only active and confirmed users (would need manual activation, umm) could vote blah-blah-blah? Like if you haven't logged on/been registered during the last let's say three months you can't vote in the GOTW. Then again there are ways go round that as well :/
So there's a beta (uniwars) and a, well I can't tell. It's not a demo since there's nothing to it and it's very buggy. It's not open source so it's not a tutorial.
