Earn Double the points by reviewing!
News posted 21st April, 2009 by Rikus
Your Weekly Points Savings Tip from Mr Kras

Ohhh pssst, Mr. Kras will be giving away double the dc-points for every review submitted this week! And if you are a VIP member the points will really start to rank up! For example Demon Lizardman reviewed 5 games this week so on top of his regular 25 points per review he will be getting a total of "125" on top of that !Kaching $$! Thats 250 points just for reviewing some games!

Now if Mr Lizard was a VIP member he would have gotten another 10 points per review! That would make his total of $300 points! Join D.Lizard and earn some quick points! It $$ to be a VIP!

* Of course a review has to normally written. Bad or very short reviews/articles will be deleted, and if something gets deleted it decreases your points x2.

Is this just ones already submitted, or is it for the rest of the week?

Posted by Jon Lambert 21st April, 2009

At this rate, everyone with good reviewing skills will become a VIP in no time.

*runs to write some reviews*

"$300 points!"

What? Why dollars?

Posted by Rikus 21st April, 2009

For the rest of the week!

Posted by W3R3W00F 21st April, 2009

I plan to.

I think people who write good reviews should also get an additional point for every Thumbs Up that review gets. In fact, I think that might make a good all around system. It might encourage people submitting good content.

My points aren't doubling up. What gives? :|

Posted by Sumo148 21st April, 2009

Now because of points, I have seen useless articles and reviews

Posted by Ski 21st April, 2009

Lol. Werewoof if you're going to make reviews please dont churn out any old nonsense just to get points, they need to be good. You missed out the sound and music in one of them, and you even admitted to making errors in the other...

I'm a VIP right now, so yay.

Don't worry, Mom, I'll make nice reviews. |,

Look, you gotta do what you gotta do to get points. At least my reviews don't say things like...

Presentation was good.
Gameplay was swell.
Graphics were super.
Music sucked.
This game is awesome but kind of blows.

And yes, I missed sound in a review because I often do miss things. And gee, doesn't hurt to admit things.

On a side note, why don't YOU read them?

Posted by Ski 21st April, 2009

"Look, you gotta do what you gotta do to get points"

That doesn't mean troll forums and rush reviews.

I think people who do this crap should have points deducted for abusing the system. So mess around making an article just for points: take 100 points from user, and so on.

Posted by Rikus 22nd April, 2009

Just so everyone knows deleted reviews and articles substract the dc points x2

what about starting a new account, writing a bunch of fake reviews on it, sending the dc points to my real account, deleting the reviews, and deleting the account

did i brake the system?

Posted by Ski 22nd April, 2009

Can you delete your own account?

Posted by Ricky 22nd April, 2009

Image i just assumed you could

oh well, you can just delete the reviews after you send the dc points leaving an account with negative dc points

"That doesn't mean troll forums and rush reviews."

Fyi, Trolling is being rude and usually causing mischief around the forums. I, in my habits, tend to post frequently. That's what you proclaim as "Spamming". But to no prevail, this time, you decided to misuse the word, trolling.

Please, find a dictionary, old chap.

Posted by Ski 22nd April, 2009

lol, RickyG I'm sorry to ruin your plans

I'm starting to miss Shroomlock's reviews , he actually wrote more than a paragraph or two.

BTW, is the reviews section broken for anyone else? I cant get past the first page without an error message

OOH! My significant contribution to this argument/debate is that while Werewoof asked Adam to find a dictionary, he used the word "prevail" as opposed to the intended word "avail".

Posted by W3R3W00F 22nd April, 2009

HA! That means I LOSE/WIN! In your/my face!

Lol I too share my grammer mishaps.

Posted by Demon Lizardman 22nd April, 2009

Wait, did Shroomlock write more than two paragraphs per section in each review?

Posted by T!m 22nd April, 2009

""$300 points!"

What? Why dollars? "

Apparently they are not called dollar points?
Works for me. Can we cash in when we get enought "dollar points?"

Posted by Muz 22nd April, 2009

You can try selling your points on eBay.

Posted by Mr G 22nd April, 2009

"You can try selling your points on eBay."

Maybe 1000 points for 1$?

Posted by alastair john jack 22nd April, 2009

Adam should sell his profile, since he has 10,000 points!!

Posted by RedEnchilada 22nd April, 2009

Hey, wait. I submitted my review, and I only got the regular 25 for it. Where's my extra 35? (I'm still a VIP, right? I still have the badge.)

Also, a little suggestion for the points system. It'd be nice to get a few point for updating a project. (Not much, just 5 or less.) Of course, you'd have to be the head to avoid members spamming other people's projects for points. (Or they could all go to the head.)

I dunno, if somebody just updates their projects with just a new update like saying "UPDATE, game has been continued!" It's kinda useless,

Posted by AndyUK 22nd April, 2009

Ive seen a few godawful reviews since the new points system was implemented. Which is a shame since they're not really delete worthy, just extremely badly written. Like written by a blind man with no hands then passed through an online translator 15 times.

Posted by RedEnchilada 23rd April, 2009

Ok, apparently the extra points are donated.

Posted by Matt Boothman 23rd April, 2009

Woo! Minus points! Only cool people have minus points.

Posted by The Chris Street 23rd April, 2009

I might do some reviews, at least I can practice my writing skills and get some bonus points at the same time

Posted by Muz 23rd April, 2009

Lol, I don't want points for updating projects. I update my project all time when I work on it, and the last thing I want is for people to complain that I do it for points. There's already been a few complaints about people "bumping" their projects too much without the points.

Posted by RedEnchilada 23rd April, 2009

Haha, Boothman doesn't have negative points anymore!

Posted by AndyUK 23rd April, 2009

Matt you've spent 40,000 points! How on earth did you manage that?

Posted by Matt Boothman 23rd April, 2009

Wait, why have I got no points now?

Posted by Zoglu 23rd April, 2009

Maybe because your reviews are pointless? (sorry )

Posted by AndyUK 24th April, 2009

They are entertaining. That is enough.

Posted by Zoglu 24th April, 2009

Was this pun so awful you didn't notice it?
