An Interview With Yves Lamoureux on HWA
News posted 14th May, 2009 by Rob Rule
Morning all. The Daily Click posed a series of questions to Yves Lamoureux of Clickteam this week on all things Hardware Acceleration for Multimedia Fusion 2 and The Games Factory 2 - everything from the development process to when we can expect to see that elusive final release. Yves sheds some light on HWA's importance to Clickteam, the challenges along the way and what he'll be working on next.

An extract from the article: Yves: I started working on HWA 3 years ago before the release of MMF2. And then I paused it as it would have delayed a lot the release of MMF2. I restarted it after the first MMF2 update patches, when MMF2 was stable enough. I also paused it a few times last year after the 1st beta versions, to work on update patches for the standard version, work on the Bluray version with Francois, start the development of the Unicode version of MMF2 and work on the current and next versions of Install Creator, etc.

I spoke to Yves the day I got admin and he was very willing and nice to talk to throughout, so thanks again to Yves for his time.

Bluray version? What's that about?

After HWA is added in I think that MMF2 will have everything a game designer needs! *cough except 3D*

Clickteam's working on a Bluray interfaceamabob for Bluray... discs... But if I remember correctly, it won't be available to the average Joe, only companies...

I could be remembering wrong though.
