Abandoning Klik

Today, Rikus announced that he will be leaving the Klik & Play community, not for the summer, not for a holiday, but forever. That's right, the founder of The Daily Click, AP-Zone and #KNP, will no longer be a part of this great community. Rikus says he's "had enough" of the community and wants to explore other avenues. What will happen to DC? Well, I'll be taking over for the timebeing, until next March when our payment expires with our current provider. After that? Who knows what will be in store for The Daily Click. For now, I would like to pay tribute to The Daily Click's founder of two years, and community member of eight: Rikus Kras. It's been fun, mate, and I'll miss talking about annoying community members, how annoying it is to shave, having arguments about which is better: subs or dubs, and which of us gets harassed by more newbies (guess I'm going to be the victor now, eh?). I'd like to wish you good luck for whatever it is you persue, and hope to see you checking in from time to time. We'll miss you. ~Mike Tweet

Its not shutting down, i am sure shadowcaster & co will do a great job in the future, they have done great so far while i was in the background these past months:) So it was a great try-out for them. I'll be posting my last gotw update next wednesday, i wonder what editor wants to do that after me:)

As the news states, until next March, when our site becomes homeless. I'll try and organise space between now and then, but the admins and I might not be able to afford it. We'll see what happens.

I hope everythings gonna go OK but if there is money problems youll have to ask the community for donations for hosting. (Which is not a bd thing if the DC lives on)

That saddens me...once again, another on of this communities big names calling it quits...I suppose there'll be plenty for you to look forward to outside the community and in your future no matter what path you may choose to follow. Exactly how much is the hosting cost for the current DC service provider? If you tell the community what it is you'd need from a server (space, obviously ASP support, bandwidth, etc?) and I'm sure a considerable number of members will be only too glad to help find a replacement. You could try doing a few things, such as possibly doing what Iklik-it did i think and have a few things you can buy (t-shirts, mousemats, etc) to bring in a little extra cash to help. Whatever you choose to do, relying on donations won't be a stable answer.

I come back from a holiday and look what happens! Rikus has been one of the best guys that I have known since I joined the community. He has helped me a lot. No doubt he will pop back in, but I have a feeling he wont be back. Good luck mate.

Yet another Klik legend leaves the community. But what will happen after this? From what I've seen, those who quit the community(and say so) usually come back in a while...but usually just come to say "Hi"(or just to have fun having arguments with fellow nerds in my case). Anyways, it's kinda sad to see Rikus go. I didn't expect that...but then I guess all professional klikers must leave. Even IF the DC goes down(not saying that it will), we'll run back to good ol' Click Cafe.
