Project Overview
Preview Right, it has been over six seven years since I last released a Fishhead game (not counting the Dungeon TV games). People have shouted at me for years to make the followup of Fishhead 4 to the point that nobody even remembers what Fishhead is. The main reason for this is that I could not make anything that was good enough for a Fishhead 4 (I tried four times over the years). Now I finally got the point where I can humbly say I can make decent games.

Fishhead 4 : Blueprint is an action platformer pretty much like the old Fishhead games, only with more beef. The main level structure is about the same as in Fishhead 2 (collecting keys, opening doors, shooting potheads etc) but the engine is much better and there will be a lot more gameplay elements, enemies and puzzles.

Expected release: early 2011

Scribbled down the "story" when on a mountain trip. Might work this out in cartoony pixel art, or be lazy and use ingame graphics.

Also a new screenshot of the pre-jungle area with a fortified watchtower.

Been working on the graphics a bit since using a 36 colour palette gives more room for detail that only 4 shades of green. This is the result.

I chose to keep the dark outlines on the graphics that actually matter in the gameplay, and the rest has soft outlines or no outlines.
Drag, Boredom, Style change

So, I got too tired of this. Even though these were probably my best graphics, they don't go together too well and take too much of my time to make a big game with it. And I want this game to be big. Also I have been reading too many books on game history, recharging my love for 8-bit styles.

I am currently remaking this game in the engine of Fishhead pocket, with a 32-colour palette. This means the game will look less detailed and sparkly, but more together, and have a more direct feel.

To the people who like my more detailed style better, I am not going to throw these graphics away, I am likely to use most of them in slightly reworked form as sprites and textures in Fishhead 3D.
