I've FINALLY had a good amount of free time to work on evasion 2.0 and I've finished converting all the strings to actives and therefor fixing the awkward font problem. The last piece to this puzzle are the sound effects to add, which Marko will be doing. Then hopefully we can put this on the Daily Click Arcade (but I'm waiting for a PM back from Clubsoft about having more than one high scoreboard, as there are multiple game modes). After 2 years of procrastinating Evasion 2.0 is nearly complete.
Things have been pretty crazy for me the past few months, hence the lack of updates. BUT, I have finally had some time to work on this again. I had been asking for awhile if it was possible to include font files in applications, but I've finally said screw it and started changing the strings into actives, so the font doesn't look weird. Once that's done I'll send it over to Marko who will work on some sound effects (at least I think so, I need to talk to him again). Then, hopefully I'll be able to put it up on the Arcade, but there's a chance that may not happen because it would need multiple scoreboards (for each game mode). So idk, we'll see where it goes.
Anyways, I'm almost done converting probably a hundred strings to actives, and after that Evasion 2.0 will be one more step to complete. The next 3 weeks will be crazy for me again, but hopefully Evasion 2.0 should be out by the beginning of summer.
Hey everyone. I have just added a few new things to Evasion 2.0. first off, 2 new animations, courtesy of Marko (thanks again Marko!). Check em out below.
The new laser:
The new nuke:
The new nuke may look a little weird in the pic, but it looks great in action. I am working on writing/finding music for the game right now, as well as a few other minor things. The last thing I'm going to have some trouble on it the online high scoreboard. I know I keep nagging about it, and I am sorry about that, but it's something I don't know how to do myself, and I have tried a tutorial that someone directed me too awhile ago, but the tutorial was outdated. Anyone know how to do high scoreboards online?
Anyways, comment and tell me how you like the new animations of the Laser and Nuke. All credit goes to Marko.
Heye evryone. I can't believe it's been 5 months since my last devlog. Anyways, I've been doing work off and on and now Evasion 2.0 is very close to completion.
I've nearly completed the last game mode, survival mode, where you can only touch and collect the color block indicated in the bottom right of the screen. This mode would be done but there's a glitch. For some reason red doesn't work. When it says red at the bottom left if you touch red you still lose. After I can fix this survival Mode will be done. Here's a pic.
One of the things you may notice are a slight change in the graphics. I have changed each one of the blocks a bit, including the blocks in the other modes and your player's block.
The last thing I have to work on otherwise is score saving/an online highscoreboard. I need help with 1, saving your highest score from each game mode, and coding it in a file where the person won't be able to simply open the file and change the score as they please. The 2nd thing, which I have looked high and low for, is making an online highscoreboard. I have tried following a few tutorials on this, but they have all been outdated and the sites they say to use have been changed. Does anyone know of a tutorial that is NOT outdated? Or is there anyone that could help me with these 2 problems?
