Closer than close!

I haven't updated this in a while, but I've been doing little bits of Aqua Boy work here and there. The music's basically done - I wrote 6 songs in 3 days, which was pretty mad. Here's the Aqua Boy main theme:

Otherwise, I've had a few people play the game (more would be wonderful, btw!) and I've been acting on their feedback. I think the biggest issue I've been adressing is the lack of tutorial-type stuff; I find it very hard to predict where people (the ones who don't read instructions) will stumble - one disheartening instance had this fella try to shoot a door or something - so I'm trying to make it pretty watertight.

Finishing Aqua Boy

As of last night, it's possible to beat Aqua Boy. I think! I haven't actually tried running through it yet; I figure I'd need about 30 minutes for 100% completion (this is academic, because I know where all the items are and I know the quickest routes between them, but it's some indication of the game's frankly bloated scale).

As for the music, I haven't gotten a single note set in stone yet, which is getting frustrating. As ever, the limitless world of VST is too much for me to handle. But I'm sure it'll be OK.
Boss preview

Just a quick post today - I really wanted to show off a little animation for the second boss. I knew I was going to struggle with the large sprites that boss encounters require, so I was delighted when beloved ex-TDC member Dogzer offered to help out with this one - I did two frames and he did the rest.

Anyway, click on the image for a full-sized animated gif of the game in action.
