"Groovy"
I love the Evil Dead trilogy. I love video games. So if someone were to combine the two and make a game that didn't suck, I would be a happy person. Wait! Someone has.

Graphics
I have to admit, the graphics on this game aren't the greatest ever, but they do serve their function adequately and everything is more or less identifiable. I started on some (unanimated) Evil Dead sprites about 2 years ago which never went to use that I could spare if JD wanted. Although, it's extremely satisfying to watch a deadite explode in a shower of bloody mush.

Sound and Music
All the action sounds are functional rather than fancy, but you notice straight away the classic Ash one liners are in there and it gives the game an authentic feel. I thought on the second level though, the wind demon should have made the noises from the film.

Presentation
The first thing that strikes you is the nicely done intro with the well animated Necronomicon. The menus are good too with Ash speech and the cool chainsaw pointer.

Gameplay
The game is about the right level of difficulty, not so challenging that it makes you want to break things, but not overly easy, especially the second level. The game is also fun to play, and apart from a few bugs here and there it's all smooth running.

Lastability
As this is a demo, it is over too fast, but it does leave you wanting more. The levels included in the demo are varied nicely, let's hope the this continues throughout the full game and it will be a long time before it gets boring.

Overall
This is easily the best fan game I've played, and with a bit of polish and the next levels this should be a very good game.
