I was suprised to see this game win game of the week because from the screenshots it didn't look all that good. So I downloaded it just to see.

Well, I'm still suprised it got game of the week.

Graphics: All of the graphics are pretty spare. The main character looks remarkably like a repainted megaman graphic as with most of the enemies. Then there are the backgrounds which are blocks of solid gray with some windows (blocks of light blue with a squiggly line) stuck in them.

Gameplay: The mediocre graphics could be excused if the gameplay was interesting and fun. Unfortunately for me, it was neither of these. Each level has a different goal and different setup. The first level requires you to climb up a building, avoiding little megaman sprites who run back and forth. Upon touching any enemy or falling off the screen, you are presented with a screen that says: You Lose. Other levels require you to swing across the screen fighting a boss that simply flys back and forth, run across buildings avoiding little fireballs shot at you, and racing Venom to the top of a building.

Sound: In game there is no sound at all except for some really excruciating and random midi's. Mostly punk songs miditized into the most god-awful things on Earth. Then there are a few little sounds in the "cutscenes" presented between levels.

Presentation: The presentation for this game is awful. At the beginning you are presented with a screen of text telling you the "plot". It's filled with grammar errors, along with some spelling problems. Now, this may seem like trivial bickering but having correctly spelled text and good grammar in your game's instructions and plot is very important. People are going to have a bad first impression of a game with poorly written text. And it kills any look of professionalism in the game. Another thing is when you die, after you get the "You Lose" screen, it goes to a completely blank screen. This would have taken all of 2 seconds to fix by having it go to the title screen but instead the author hastily put this up for download before even fixing a little thing like that.

Overall: This game is really not deserving of a Game of the Week as it needs a lot more work done on it. It is easy to see that the author really didn't put all the effort he could have into this. Don't bother downloading this until a full version or updated demo is released to fix all the problems and quirks.
