I drew an image in paint and whenever I resize it pixelates.

Is there any way to keep the edges smooth and enlarge the file 200%

Any programs that do this? I can't seem to find where in photoshop.

Use HQ2x to resize twice somewhat smooth, or HQ3x or HQ4x to resize it 3 or 4 times.

Dunno, I can only really think of Photoshop as that's the sorta best resizing program I'm aware of, other than Fireworks. Try image englarging by 200%, constraining proportions (obviously) or maybe free transform? :\ It's unusual to get any good amount of quality when enlarging an image, it's often better to start over or trace the bigger version etc.

Graphical operating systems have been around for too long, I notice.

It's a program you need a console for, and type in the commands. Or you could just download my graphical frontend, HQresizer.

if you need to enter a command-line you have to make a shortcut of your exe, right-click on this shortcut, properties and go to the file path field, and add the commands after the path.
ex: the path is c:\myprogram.exe
the path with command-line will be: c:\myprogram.exe yourcommands

I have no idea what to do. I have my picture.bmp I want to resize. And I have the file hq2x.exe

Now what?

The hq2x.exe opens for a slipt second then closes.

Hello? If you want to make it easy, download my HQResizer program.
http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=5872

Or if you wanna do it the DOS way, open a DOS shell, cd to the program's location, and type hq2x inputfile outputfile. Best use a frontend.
Windows does this automatically, but when the program is done by giving you info on how to resize a pic, it closes. You have to give it parameters, then it does stuff for you, and then it closes too. If you want to see the full output, use a DOS shell, but if you want to make it easy, use a graphical frontend like a Windows application.

Damn people aren't used to MS-DOS anymore...

You don't have to open up a DOS shell to pass command line args. You can also use Start menu -> Run, or you can create a shortcut to the app and do what Phanoo said.

Yes, but it might be useful to see what the output is, and opening up the shell for that is useful.
