It's worth mentioning that the above has presspack artwork, video, screenshot downloads for Golden Sun DS, Endless Ocean 2 and a hell of a lot more.

Cheers Rob, downloading the Golden Sun one now

The Sony ones a bit boring, maybe if you like them games but it's taking way too long to get to the important stuff. GT PSP though, ooooh yes! it's about time!

MGS Peacewalker looks superb!

Ok, except for the vitality sensor, it was acceptable. As for the sensor, What the frizzles? >_< That brought down the overall quality. Anywho, I'm actually pretty stoked about SMG2, it's something I really wanted but never expected to happen. Nintendo, making one of my whimsical ideas? The New Super Mario Bros Wii will probably grace my gameshelf, and Wii Sports Resort is kind of a given. I like the look of the new Metroid game, very epic, but I was kind of wanting another FPS. I'm hoping it's a conglomabob of third and first person shooters and 2d stuffs.

All the good stuff was at the end, pretty much. It was funny that Reggie actually made a comment about the whole blog thing, since e3 shows usually keep comments on chatter few and far in between.

No Star fox, Pikmin, Wii Zelda, or Kid Icarus. :\ Still ok though. But I REALLY coulda done without the vitality sensor. I'm satisfied, but I was really expecting Nintendo to pull the plugs and blow everyone away with more projects.

You know, on second thought, this is pretty awesome. I just secretly had my hopes too high. Yoshi in SMG2 was enough to make it awesome. Though I'm still waiting for those titles I mentioned on Wii nintendo. Wii, not the next system. No time for the Sony show.

I'd rather that they announced no star fox, mario, zelda, metroid, etc etc, and instead announced a new AAA title/franchise instead of rehashing the past. And I'd also like a million dollars and a frozen hell, to go

I really enjoyed the Sony conference - the Nintendo one not so much. I think in terms of games Sony had the best conference, and in terms of surprises/new technology Microsoft had the best conference. The Nintendo conference gave us Metroid, Zelda and Mario but it's not like they were unexpected, so there wasn't really as much surprise. And I like surprises

Microsoft had too much showboating, Nintendo had killer titles but lacked any sort of punch, Sony was just all round good even if they did have a slow start.
Got myself some goodies from E3 being sent over from attendees , really should try and go there myself next year.

GOTM - MAY 2009 - 3RD PLACE!
3rd June, 2009 at 03:42:18 -

Natal - I can't wait for the 3 average games that support it.

Sony's Ball on Stick - so, it's wii-motion plus. . . except it's a year away?

Mario Galaxy 2 - Awesome! Except I need to go beat mario galaxy before I bother buying it. At least I can ride Yoshi in a new mario game that doesn't suck (sunshine)

Metroid - We'll See. I have prime 3 for wii, but between the fact that I don't like aimless wandering games, and I don't like fps games, I don't really play it. If they can at least do away with one of those angles for the next metroid, I'll probably buy it.

PS3 Price Drop - oh wait, they didn't announce this. Not that it matters, even if they dropped the price it'd only go down to $299. Which is still $150 more than I'll spend.

Overall I think Microsoft had the weakest showing. And Nintendo had the best, only because I don't have a ps3 and won't for the next few years.

Natal sounds to me to be a combo of the Eyetoy, night-vision goggles, and Wii Speak. Not sure why the Wii Speak part is in there. But okay, they can do what they want.

I'd buy a PSP Go simply because I don't have a PSP, my brother's lacks a working battery, his Memory Stick lacks the space to hold enough downloads, and I want to play Crash Bandicoot again. But that's pretty expensive.

In other news, why Blue and Yellow Toad as opposed to Red Toad? He's the most respectable of the Toads (Toad being my favorite character) and why are they all exactly the same? Why not have Mario, Toad, Luigi, and Yoshi, and have them have stat differences, and you choose who to play as you jump in? But yeah, I'd buy that. And Mario Galaxy 2, even if it is essentially an expansion pack to Galaxy. I haven't actually seen Metroid yet so I don't have an opinion.

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? is a great game. I played the Japanese demo before.

My E3 Impressions

Microsoft's wowed me from a software perspective, and seemed to have the most focus. I felt like they had a very strong game lineup, and a couple of great surprises (Reach, Natal, Alan Wake not being vaporware). I was a little disappointed that Bungie didn't offer a new IP, and by Rare's absence (tho admittedly they haven't produced anything good since the N64). Overall tho, amazing software presentation they really stepped up as a system for the hardcore gamer.

Project Natal impressed me, although I'm still not convinced that motion control is ever going to completely replace traditional controllers. Still, I'm excited to see what they do end up using it for and will probably check it out. I'm also curious to see how it effects Nintendo's market dominance since the Wii's major selling point is its unique controller. Personally, I don't see the add-ons making a significant impact since they won't be bundled with every system sold, but next generation could be interesting since presumably all three companies will be integrating their second-generation motion tech.

Nintendo's conference was a disappointment. New Super Mario Bros. Wii looked like great fun, but lacked online. I don't know what to make of Team Ninja developing a Metroid title... Metroid is all about adventure first, action later, and I just feel like the house of Ninja Gaiden will fail to strike that balance properly. Tho admittedly a part of me wouldn't mind seeing Zero Suit Samus with their trademark jiggle physics.

Mario Galaxy 2's announcement was welcome and unexpected, but a small part of me died when I realized that Nintendo spent more time talking about a fashion game and a 'murder mystery book club for women' game for the DS than they did about Zelda. Seriously, I get that they're trying to appeal to the casual gamer, but they're not even trying to appease the hardcore anymore. Tho after seeing their completely botched Mario Kart and Smash Bros. efforts, I guess we're not missing much. Still tho, can we get some legitimate games on the console please!?!

Sony's conference nearly put me to sleep, but ultimately I was impressed by the PS3's software lineup -- now if they'd just lower the price I might consider buying one. The presentation itself was far too long winded though, and I couldn't really ride a wave of excitement like I did watching the Microsoft conference. PS3's motion control solution was pretty awkward looking in its R&D stage, but still managed to impress me (particularly the 1:1 tracking and video compositing).

I don't like the PSP Go at all. I get that they're trying to push digital distribution, but why alienate all the early adopters by cutting the UMD slot? They should've held that one back for the inevitable PSP2. Also, a slider design doesn't make any sense at all. The biggest problem with the PSP is that you can't stick it in your pocket without worrying about scratching the screen. I like the form factor but they should've made it a clamshell instead of a slider.

Your thoughts?

They should include some method of transferring a UMD or using a serial number to unlock a DD version. Because yea, whilst the PSP is good all my games are locked up on UMD or are PS1 games I ripped myself. The Go is a no go for me, a friend over there got a chance to play it and said it's not comfortable at all.

And I'd imagine why Nintendo didn't speak much about their upcoming decent games is because of surprise or they might be too early to discuss.

Unless that Mario4Dead4swords gets raving reviews I think I'll pass on it. I'd only get it for the multiplayer.
