Where did you get "C is failing" from? I always believed C is a pass
Heh, the way people react to lower scores kind of seems like the saying
"If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all". Only it's more like "If you don't rate the game highly don't rate it at all!" Which, btw I think is ridiculous.
And if people are so butthurt about the zero star rating then why does it still exist?
= This is a horrible game
= This game shouldn't even exist. Either it's a joke game, it's a game made with no effort at all, or I'm a troll that just flagged myself by giving this a 0 star rating
I have a new rating system in mind, but can't be bothered to type it all out now

I like the current rating system just fine.
I remember the old system that asked you to vote thumbs up or thumbs down right after you downloaded it.
I hadn't even played the game yet and it was already asking for my rating!
Too much stock is put into ratings. It's a shame to have people get so caught up in having the rating be exactly what they think it should be rather than enjoying the game. Yes, blatant mis-ratings are a pain. No system will counteract miscreants or varieties of opinions and tastes.
Think of the rating as a ballpark, and not an exact score. Or just cast your vote and ignore the rest. We're here to enjoy and create, not grade and berate.
That's not to say you shouldn't say you disagree with a rating. But giving proper feedback is all too often drowned by arguing over ratings.

So does that mean I don't actually make decent games. People just like me?
I beg to differ.
Maybe Rob was thinking the other way round, like when people give 0-stars because they don't like the auther or something?
Yep, you got it. I was talking about 'those that let their opinion of the artist cloud their opinion of the output' not 'highly rated games are only rated highly because the author has lots of friends'.
I've noticed a few low ratings given as 'revenge' for some squabble between members before. As Clayton says, no system would irradicate this problem. I think it's a shame, but not the end of the world.
