I've tried it this weekend and it seems to work quite nicely and I won't have to make up a new account somewhere else. Thanks for all the great site suggestions for example I was not aware of box.net yet so thanks for that.

So its good for the downloader. You also have a nice download statistic. But i guess any of the mentioned might be good aswell. Dropbox is great because it creates a direct link download, meaning you can just click on it or right click download. And is great when doing projects with others as it supports creating shared folders. And uploading is a lot more easier. Code me a sausage!

The cheapest ones are around $20 a year, and to upload a file, all you have to do is start filezilla and drag'n'drop! Beats the pants off all those other file hosting services.
