The main character of Wild Arms 2 was named Ashley (guy)
The voice actor for the main character in Lunar:TSSS and Lunar:TSSSC is an Ashley man as well. (watch the credits or watch the Lunar behind the scenes movie CD)
Best quality you need in a game? Definately addiction. The longer you can get someone addicted and held down to your game, the longer other people's games don't get attention. And if you run a game that charges monthly then the mass addiction that your game might have will rake in more and more money!
Addiction comes from Gameplay.
Secondary to that would be graphics and sounds/music, but not by a heavy shadow.
