Are there any klik games with characters made entirely of many parts and joints
that walk and stuff using programing? (The torso is connected to stomach, to hip, to upper leg L, to knee L, to lower leg L, to foot L...)

If there aren't, I dare someone to make it, but
if you do, it better be open source.

Tigs would probably be able to help.

The problem with those isn't so much the coding, as the animating. All you have to do is position the parts from a central point, and match up the directions/animations.

Ofcourse, you have to make those animations... Good luck with that.

I posted something about this a while ago. It's used in conjuction with 'ragdoll phsyics'. I've been trying to do it for the past week or so, but itt'd take a lot of maths to get the positioning correct as well as movement and animation.

I've done a few bosses that have joints, which is done by positioning the next limb at the action point on the previous objects. All the limbs have action points and hotspots at opposite ends, and have 32 directions. It works fine for caterpiller/dragon neck bosses, but it would be interesting to see something with limited movement (i.e. humans, very few of whom can bend their knees 360) implemented.

Yes, that's the tricky part - Restrictions. People should check out Soldat and N:

These both use ragdoll physics with soldat using joints for animation aswell. Soldat is coded so that it uses 3 key points: the head, and each foot. It then balances things like wiegh out between them.

I often make characters in side view games usually with seperate arms, and sometimes legs and heads. Never had that many...you'd have to limit the movement of most of them to make it look anything near realistic.

It's hard to do, but possible. Doing it for humans is hard, though - try making simple walking robots (with two solid legs), and add more joints as you get more confident. Although I'm not really sure why ragdoll is of great help when humans can't move their joints in every direction
