I liked the first game, never played the second. This looks good, but I'm not sure how well the true 3D element will work in gameplay... still, demo downloading.

The music in the trailer's rather good as well.

After having played it, I can see that they've tried to change the interface... but they've taken it too far, it seems. Now you have to plough through hundreds of tiny confusing icons to get to what you want. I think that's rather the major downfall of it.

I found the camera controls fairly horrendous as well - the arrow keys didn't seem to work, which might have helped a bit.

At least there's the CoasterCam.

Well the game can be set to isometric view, so things look more like the original game. I like the new camera mode, because u can get up in close to things, look around objects, & just make things ALOT easyer to see what your doing!

but in the other hand you spend ages moving the camera to an angle you want whereas in the old game you could zoom in/out a few times and rotate a few angles or 90.

but my little sister likes it so whenever i get the urge to ride a virtual 'coaster i'll know where to go

To be honist, I got used to the camera itself, so it takes me what, 5 seconds to get the angle I want. Basicly its just like MMF's interface, you start out thinking its a bitch, but then after using it, because you know how much better the full program itself is, you end up learning how to get around it in a snap. Where I would have appreciated some of the menues & such to be the same as RCT1, Chris S. made the original 2, this game has nothing but his idea's in it. He didnt program any of this one, so he really doesnt have much control over the interface. I'm sure if he did, the interface would be much more like the original game.

Not sure if many people noticed, but Chris S. just came out with a new tycoon game. Looks almost exactly like RollerCoaster Tycoon, only its trains & transporting things from place to place. 90% of all the buttons, menu's & even the gameplay is exactly the same as RollerCoaster Tycoon.

I didnt like it, too little time on my hands, and i was building such a cool coaster too ^^.. but thats the way it goes sometimes . But yeah, i think its an improvment from the original games(but i still think they rule). I will probably buy this game when it gets out.

That would be Locomotion, the "sequel" to Transport Tycoon (which was a fantastic game). I've read a couple of reviews of it and they unfortunately don't seem to be very positive... Demo downloading time again, I think.

Unfortunately, 3D often seems to kill a lot of classic games. I'm gonna download the demo when I get home from work and hope 3D hasn't pinched off a steaming log on this one too.

Whenever you get the urge to ride a virtual coaster, your better off with NoLimits or Scream Machines.
