Review: Dragon Riders -TEST-
Because I'm a dragon fanatic( with a dragon collect that takes up an entire shelf ), I thought this game sounded pretty good. It has a nice title too. When I downloaded it, it proved not to be disappointing.
Not really much presentation to the game. It has a simple title screen, gradient backgrounds, and a short and simple intro. The dragon talking about how cool the music is on the title screen was great though. LOL!
The best thing I saw about this game is its unique gameplay. You can walk on the ground which is kinda slow unless you use the bash attack, or you can fly which lets you get out the way and move faster than walking. Also, the way you attack enemies by diving on them was very original. Great work on the gameplay.
The graphics weren't really that good. Probably becuase it's one of the author's first games. The backgrounds are just gradients and the sprites aren't great either. However, the gameplay really makes up for the graphics.
The graphics kind of give the game a feel like it's from the mid 80's though, which does add points to this genre.
Sound and Music:
Although most of the music is easilly recognizable from FF& and Chrono Trigger, it was still well used in the game's style. Therefor, the music was put to good use there. As for the sound, there wan't any. But thats okay. The game is still pretty good without it.
The gameplay for the game is unique and addicting. If only this wasn't a demo, it would have lasted longer. Also, the 2nd boss is kind of messed up. Even after killing all the enemies, the boss's health is only still a little more ways towards 0. Make an event that sees if all the boss enemies are gone instead of using the boss health bar.
Overall, this is a great game even for a demo, and I recommend downloading it. Although the graphics aren't really good, the gameplay definitely makes up for it.
