CHRIS:
Falling into my personal "not bad" category, Santa Dog 2 is an attractive, if slightly bland looking, arcade game where you must provide support to a train laden with Christmas presents, by protecting it against evil elves attacking it by air. Naturally, your player has his own plane too, so shooting down the attackers earns you points. This is the Lite version of the game, a much bigger game is to be released in the future, but early impressions are promising. I dislike the powerups that fall from the enemies from time to time; they are hard to spot against the background and the weapons they give you feel limiting and underpowered. There's no music to speak of, but sound effects are prevalent (and annoying!), while the game evokes a wintery theme rather than a Christmas one. It's not bad, but very repetitive so far.
ASSAULT ANDY:
Train sound gets repetitive.
Gunshots are cool but need some variation.
Music might have been nice.
Generally the game is too easy. You aren't really ever in danger of dying or the train dying.
Suffers same cursor problem as Santa Doesn't Love You: Cursor needs to not be destroyed when it leaves the playfield.
The mouse cursor active object needs "Destroy if too away from frame" unticked. If you're in window mode and you move the mouse out of the window a tiny bit too far it will be destroyed and you will have no cursor.
Mouse movement is great and fluid. It is very simple and intuitive to maneuver your plane and shoot where you want to. Nice job.
The bullet graphics are a bit dark and become too hard to see in the second level. I think you should opt for long bright yellow bullets throughout the game.
Overall, this is an unfinished game with not enough content to be judged the same as the others, therefore I have made a big deduction from gameplay.
* With some work it will quite likely be a fun game.
