ATTENTION! There are two versions of the game within this download. The archived version has the source code to the game and also the old QBasic DOS compiled binaries which are unsafe to run on modern operating systems (or wont run at all). Please read the README.txt for more information.

Game Details
Picture Puzzler is the basis for my game #Puzzle, albeit a LOT more basic. It is a Tile Shift puzzle. 8 tile flavor.

I made this waay back when i first started getting into programming and gaming.

I started out using microsoft QuickBasic 4.5 and still use it, although rarely, to this day.

Just thought id upload it.

GAME
a picture of a happy face has been scrambled into 9 square peices (8 peices, one empty) and you must unscramble it. one piece has been removed and you can only move adjacent pieces into the open space.

controls
w,a,s,d move the peices into the open space.

XXX
XOX
XXX

If the O is the open space then to get the peice under it to move into it you'd press w. For the right peice a. Left d. Above s.

r - scrambles up the picture for you to start over.

esc - exits the program.

i remember there was a puzzle like this between levels on an old commodore-64 robocop game and it gave you like 10 seconds to solve it and thus i hate these puzzles for the rest of my life.

Cool. I started making games in Basic. Then I found TGF2!

the .bas source code is included. if anyone cares to see it. just open it in notepad, or if you download qb4.5 you can edit and recompile it.

its not nearly as advanced as some of my other Basic projects, but its the only one that is stable and i finished.

Hmmm, it didn't work for me because:
"This system does not support fullscreen mode".

I know I have an issue with that, had problems with youtube before, but I don't know what to do, and it isn't a problem on youtube now neither. You guys know what it is?

read the description pl0x

im guessing you are running vista, which doesnt support the old 13h fullscreen mode.

please run it in dosbox. simply drag the picpuz.exe onto the dosbox shortcut icon after you install dosbox and it should start right up in the dosbox window

Ctrl+F5 (or F7 maybe) to make a decent DOSBox screenshot. <_<
