It's just a way for things and people that are unfunny to at least have a stab at being funny. It can be done well (Ross Noble, Billy Connolly) or pooly (Might Boosh, internet).

To be honest, Phredreeke, why are you here? All you do is join in on/start console wars, wind people up and provoke people. I mean, I'm pretty sure this site's about making and playing games, not secretly provoking people you know will react and causing wars in forums.
