Would anyone be up for joining in another short competition soon? Thinking about this weekend, nothing more than a 2 hour time limit. Just for fun. The theme I've got in mind is single-button control (i.e. spacebar) We could all pile into Gwerdy Chat on Sunday afternoon. All 5 of us TDC regular visitors, that is.

I might be up for it, actually. Should have a couple hours to spend on it next weekend! Single-button sounds good to me since I had a pretty cool idea for it earlier today, just randomly.
Count me in, even if I'm the only competitor! I'm free Saturday 19th 4-8pm (GMT -8 ), but I could arrange for any other time.

Really glad to see you can enter Neuro The time difference is going to be pretty funny. Here, it's exactly GMT +8. 4-8pm on Sat (your time) works for me but that's midnight to 4am for the UK people. How about we arrange it for 5-6pm GMT (at least) on Saturday or Sunday?
If time difference becomes a problem we'll just call it a "challenge" rather than trying to organise a live competition.

That sounds good to me, just trust people to keep to the time limit I guess? I can't see why anyone would cheat, anyway.

I don't know whether I'll join the competition or not, (if only because figuring out timezones gives me a headache) but I just had a good idea for a one-button game. Thanks!

Aww go on We'll try to make the time difference as manageable as possible. I think you're pretty close to Neuro anyway, right? (geographically..)
Neuro - yea, people could cheat, but it'll be pretty obvious if someone spent more than a couple of hours working on their game. This time it's largely based on trust. I thought the theme was too constricting to just announce at the last minute. By the way, I don't even have an idea for this competition myself. I was just playing Streetwise again and love its simplicity.
Edit: Yay, Sketchy!

I want to ask your opinion about a couple of things:
- All of the people who have replied so far are people I'd trust not to bend the rules for the sake of winning a silly competition. So, should we allow some flexibility with the time limit for submissions? i.e. make the game in 2 hours whenever you like within a 12 hour period.
- How about each participant donating 20 DC points to divide up as prizes?
By the way, I'm thinking of trying to make one of those time-lapse videos while I make my game. Some people might find it interesting to watch, and it would be decent proof that it was made within the time limit (not that you'd be in any doubt after playing it)

I'm not keen on strict deadlines for friendly competitions, There just no reason for it.
I'd be tempted to try to go over the limit for the sake of actually getting a game finished.
I might be up for this when the weekend comes.

No need for the points donation unless you want to build... character... or something. Two or three contest ideas have popped up that I promised point prizes to, and none of them came through. So I'll supply points if this happens.

Cool! I was thinking about this kind of thing the other day and here it is! Almost like a conspiracy! But I don't want to download Gwerdy... Why not just post it over the course of a day?
