Is this for profit or is it just illogical and a complete waste of time and money for both sides? Either way, I don't see the point of the CD format and I'm confused.

Hey Dustin, Haven't heard from you in a while...

Profits if their are ever any are used to continue to fund extra extension projects with third party developers, like the Raycaster extension back in the October issue. Their is a good number of exclusive content on each issue as well. It just a magazine with content.....

So what are you working on lately?

Will the shadow object work with the KC Clock to convey shadows from objects like they would be in real life? And if so, how many objects could I use the shadow on without causing unnescarry lag? 100? 200? If it can do all this, that extension could be a necessity to my game!

But I want raycaster really bad too
Except I don't need it for the game I'm working on

Though both issues are cheap, so I made get them both

Kisguri, to be honest, I feel the same way as Dustin. Without having a clear explanation of what Klikdisc DOES (rather than what it IS), I have trouble getting behind this project.

If the profits go to the extension developers then why not mention something along those lines when you're advertising the latest issue? Aside from a couple of exclusive games/extensions each issue, there's little that I couldn't get for free on the very site that you're advertising it on. I'm saying that I think you need to take a different approach to differentiate Klikdisc from those other "freeware games on a CD" products. Specifically, don't use the freeware content as a selling point. I know Miner2049 and Saira are good games because I already downloaded them. Especially, try not to use redundant termsto hype up the freeware content (what does "Full Demo" mean?)

If this is something that genuinely supports extension developers then I'm all for it, but unless you make that clear then it just looks like another commercial venture by you/Gamesare.

What do you mean what Klikdisc does? It Transforms into a robot and defends the universe against aliens from the planet Gamemakerlong. But you wouldn't know because it's back in cd form on your desk before you wake up the next morning....

It's a magazine guys, just like any other magazine it has articles and content, that yes existed before each issue, but at the same time it includes exclusive content like the extensions and Open source tutorials. Now if I was selling 1000's of these every month then I would obviously have a lot more to work with to make exclusive content, but currently it doesn't make enough money to pay for the extensions placed on it.

I am trying to make it help the community by generating revenue that can be used to develop new stuff for Fusion, AKA extensions and Opensource files, You don't have to buy into it, or participate, that's super cool, But it would be great if you guy wouldn't blast it so much. It takes me many many hours to do this by myself (, that could be used to do more profitable things to make money to feed my 4 kids and wife. But I want to see MMF grow and dominate the game creation tool market. And we need to continue innovation along those lines with new extensions and functions for MMF. Clickteam it's self is busy with runtimes, HWA etc to focus on generating new extensions, so we must rely on our awesome 3rd party developers to do that. But you know they can only do so much for free. Clickteam so far has been investing in the project, with the purchase of said extensions, but that will last only so long, especially if the global economy does not pick up.

Wiiman, yes i believe you could do that with the clock object, and that's a cool idea, what you would do, is adjust your light source active object to move based on the time.

The basic idea behind this is very good.

It's definitely not waste of everybody's time.

It's an attempt to build sort of an ecosystem which will boost the activity of MMF community if it succeeds and great a win-win-win situation for clickers, developers and Clickteam.

Extension developers (or tutorial writers etc) are incentivized to create higher quality innovative new solutions for game developers, game developers have a simple way to support this by purchasing and getting other relevant content at the same time, allowing them to create better and more complex games in less time, maybe commercial products - making the purchase of Klikdisc an investment. Clickteam benefits in user retention and activity of existing user base which leads to word of mouth and new customer acquisition. That, however, is the ideal situation, and perhaps not likely to fully realize with this attempt but nevertheless the principle itself is a good one.

Exclusive never-seen-before content like the shadow extension (is it exclusive?) and that raycaster thingy are already something that really create value for developers and give a solid reason for purchasing the Klikdisc. If it gets the critical mass behind it, the snowball will start rolling and getting bigger. Ideally, then, the quality of both extensions and games will go up, which would've not happened in a "everything is free" setting.

I really liked what I saw about the Shadow extension in the demo vid. Would like to integrate that to one of my games, Malayalam - Island of Mysteries. However, as Wiiman kind of already pointed out earlier; it was not enough information to make a decision to purchase or not.
how many objects could I use the shadow on without causing unnescarry lag? 100? 200? If it can do all this, that extension could be a necessity to my game
So because this wasn't shown in the video, makes me think the extension can't support higher amounts of objects simultaneously. If it could, that would really add value to it.

All I'm saying is that I think you should put that information about helping the community on the Klikdisc website somewhere. If it's there already then I couldn't find it easily. Without any mention of where the money goes (i.e. "what Klikdisc does") it just looks like you're selling a CD.

I wasn't "blasting" the idea. As another community member and potential customer, I just trying to give you some advice. It's up to you if you want to listen or pretend like someone is attacking you.

I do think it's a good idea. For future issues, how about having some video interviews with Francois/Yves over Skype. Or giving away one MMF2 license each issue? Or maybe one of your own games?

Awesome Ideas Nim,

I should do some Video interviews with Y and F regularly that's excellent, I do plan on running some contests with the site and have the entries on the issue, and some prizes, I did give away Gem Fusion free last issue, And will do so more on future discs, But I try to feature most everyone elses work ahead of mine, This issue I built To conquer the Stars for Klikdisc, the EXE works great, its the flash one thats a bit buggy.

Thank you for you follow up statement I appreciate it alot. And yes I do want good postively framed feedback critical or not, I want the disc to succeed for every one.

But seriously Some discs do turn in to robots....

MJK I will post a file on the shadow object shortly to show you!

Just a Klikdisc supporter posting on the thread, even though i've not bought a single issue the first reply pissed me off so much i had to. What a tit.

He's probably one of these copyright fascists who goes around fangame sites going "Hey wow you got a licence to develop this?". WHO. CARES.
