Hey guys I was wondering if anyone would like their scrapped game collection included in a massive download i'm planning to make. The download will just be a text file saying how its all abandoned and anyone can continue anything or use it for reference as long as they give credit to whoever made it AND the text file will also credit everyone for whatever thing they put in. Remember, if you have a crap load of abandoned/ scrapped games that are just taking up space, why wouldb't you donate them to charity? You have nothing to lose
If you put a million monkeys at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a Java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs.
That's a great idea.
It might almost be worth creating a dedicated subforum for this, so people can keep adding their projects as separate threads - rather than bundling everything together in one big download (or one really long post). Depends how much interest there is, I suppose.
Anyway, just a thought...

Great idea. I started compiling some of my old stuff into an abandonware pack early this year, but then I stopped because most of my old stuff seemed too crap to be of use anyway. But I may as well give you what I had so far. Here is what I was up to, I will look for more files soon:
I wouldn't say there's anything in there of substantial value. I also haven't put in the extensions required.
The most interesting files in my set are probably the "Online Defence13.mfa" - a co-op online game, and the Harvest Moon engine. However almost all of the files are probably badly coded by my current standards. Hopefully someone can find some use from them.
This is an abandoned Sonic fangame I made many years back in MMF 1.5. It was over halfway done before I scrapped it. I didn't really like the direction it was going in, and the only thing that's "Sonic" about it is the sprites, sounds and ring loss. So, I made the decision to release it open-sourced to the Sonic Fangames HQ. You're welcome to add it to your collection.

This is the most complete abandoned thing i have. A simple zombie shooter with a couple weapons. Its kind of more of an engine, I learned loads from it. At the 10th wave a boss comes.
I don't think you should put them in a massive download. Maybe put in a site for it. It can just be a simple HTML site or something, but it's easier. Or put them in a torrent, where people can pick which they want.
