Not Dead
Posted 11th Feb 11, by Jess Bowers
Last year, I had an unfortunate accident and lost nearly all of my pixel art. I thought I was being diligent about my backups but apparently I wasn't copying everything. So, while I still have all of my MMF2 game files, all of the original GraphicsGale artwork was lost (including all of the stuff I had yet to port over to MMF2).

Losing the original artwork sort of took the wind out of my sails and I haven't worked on the project since. But, I think I'm ready to start back on it. I've been doodling a bit in my sketchbook and feel the need to start pushing pixels again. Things will probably start out a bit slowly - but rest assured the project is not dead.

Here are a couple of doodle's I started doing to get me going.

You know you could probably get some of the artwork from screenshots/animations in this project, right?

oldmanclayton said it: nooooo!...yeayyy!! And: youŽll get better and better with every thing you paint, draw, create. So maybe some things were lost, but new things will come, and they will be better and brighter! besides: i love your screenshots!

Thanks, guys. I *really* appreciate your support. Seriously.

Adam - I can get some of the artwork. I did lose a number of pieces that were in GraphicsGale format only and not in the MFA. Also, some of the stuff I'd moved to the MFA (like the Caterpillar Mech) can be moved back to GraphicsGale but will be difficult to edit - since I did everything in layers. That particular one had about 6 layers - front leg, back leg, front arm, back arm, head and body. I'm over the mourning period so I should be able to start breaking it down again.

Iamjot - Thanks. Yeah, I think I can make a few better pieces these days. The good thing is that I still do have the MFA and all of my sketchbooks (which is where I planned out most of the stuff anyway). So, it's time to get pixeling again.
