The Way Back is the story of Pittio, a rabbit creature of miniscule stature. Because of being babied and treated as a young child his whole life, he craves independence and excitment. However, one summer he finally gets his wish, and becomes wrapped up in a fight against time to save both himself and his friends...
Development has gone slow for the last while, but I took the time to make some pretty nifty sketches of all the main characters.
Pittio (Say: Pih-Tee-oh)
Pittio is extremely short for his age. Though 17, he's only about as tall as the average twelve-year-old. This has led to him having a resentful attitude toward affection; He's heard the phrase, "He's so cute!" far too many times. He also craves independance and freedom due to being babied his whole life.
To top it all off, for the last four years, Pittio's mom has signed him up for the Summer Cave Exploration Club, which takes several kids, and allows them to explore part of a cave nearby the his home town. The general age of the kids in the club, however, is about 10-13, and the pre-planned "Exploration" is never truly fulfilling. This summer, Pittio's patience is nearing its limit, until he finally gets his wish for excitement...
Shellimah "Shellie" (Say:shell-Ee-maah)
Shellimah is Pittio's closest companion in the Summer Cave Exploration Club. She's only thirteen, but is wise beyond her years. Shellie has been in the Club for three straight years, and is the only one who cares to know Pittio's story. Shellie knows how to calm Pittio down, and is the only thing keeping him from going crazy every summer.
Mahlah
Mahlah is a beautiful Cave Sprite who befriended Dr. Karimo and has been taking care of him ever since. Mahlah is a no-nonsense kind of person, and drives Pittio on his mission. Though she appears to be open with her thoughts, she is very secretive concerning her past, the cave itself, and most of her motives. Can she truly be trusted?
Dr. Karimo (Say: Kahr-Ee-Moe)
Dr. Karimo is a quirky, strange scientist who decided to study the depths of the cave. Of course, he became lost, and Mahlah has taken him under her wing. Karimo is working on a robot with which to escape the cave, but needs rare and hard to find materials to finish it. Who will find the materials...?
I've only completed one game in my Klik kareer, and that game was lost due to a computer crash. So when this game is done, it will be my only completed game. It will be done fairly soon, though, as There are only 2 bosses left to be programed, and most areas in the game are complete.
The total number of bosses is about 14, and the total playtime looks like it will be around 4 to 5 hours for the first playthrough.
