Starting off slow.

Ok, So i'm just starting out on the first level of the game (the screen shots above) and i'm drawing all the graphics first off purely because I still need to learn to program it correctly!

Peko can walk, stand, climb up/down/sideways and jump. So ive got those figured out ><

I just finished drawing the tree house. Yeah, I know it's not that great, I struggled alot with the fact all the browns went yellowey when it got lighter. And also i'm totally new to drawing like this so, I think the more time goes on, the more I will be able to improve it

After some advice ive changed the roof so its the other way round! What does everyone think, the first one or the second one?

Nice wooden lodge >_O

Perhaps some shadow under the roof, on the wall? Just to help separate the roof from the wall a bit more, and also add a tiny bit more depth

This is very impressive, I still can't draw like that. :S

Adding shadows from the Shelf and Bookcase might help too.
Also darker colours on the edges of the pot and the wooden beams might help make them look rounded.

I like the lodge (have no problem with the color palette) but the roof looks like a bunch of logs standing vertically, they need to have more depth on their upper part.

Thanks guys ^^ Ecstazy how do you think i should go about doing that?

Im new so its kinda hard><

I am planning to add more shadow for the bookcase, roof and shelf, about the pot il give it a go lol

Wow, good question.
You're already better than me in graphics, so I'm not the guy to ask.

Actually, think if you just reversed the shading on the logs, it would look right. I like the style of the graphics, whereas most people use tiles, you seem to be using large gfx, so the shading is spread over a large area.

Lol thanks, im not entirely sure what tiles mean ><! i try and make it so it all blends in. So wether its a good thing or not im not sure lol So you think if i switch the logs so they are upside down?

Yes, I think that might make the roof look a bit better, though you'd have to add those shadows under the roof as well to give it a better perception of depth.

I will add those later when i have some time lol theres the other example :\
