This game is looking pretty cool, like a 2D max payne with alien bunnies!
One thing that I noticed is that the crosshair is pure black, which makes it difficult to see when it is over darker coloured backdrops. It would be easier to see in general if you made it both black and white.
What i did for my game was to put have a black crosshair with a white outline. Or you can do a white crosshair with a duplicate black crosshair 1px inside it.

agreed, it was just something I threw together when I changed it to mouse aiming 6 or so months ago
