Great Game, good gameplay and flawless engine, only problem I had with it was the music, it got sorta annoying after the music kept changing from the battle tune to the field tune, I just turned off the music after that, This goes into my "good" klik game archive

That was a lot better than I thought it would be!

The game is really, really slow on my computer (core 2 duo 6400, 2gos ram, geforce 8800 GT 512 mos, vista premium). That's too bad cause I love RPG game and they're not a lot made with TGF/MMF. I don't rate it for now.

jbjovi;
Wierd, some soundcards load midis slowly, you can try to turn music off with Ctrl+ M, see if that helps.

It's a really good attempt for an RPG game, but for me the gameplay misses a few things to be exciting. A fight usually plays like this "bing, bong, bing, bong *enemy dead*". It's always the same. Then I run around and my health refills magically until I run into the next enemy and the same combat happens. Or if I'm unlucky, I get into a combat before my health is restored and I die. It's very predictable.

It would really spice the game up if you would put a little more work into variety of the gameplay.

How about health potions? Randomly dropped by enemies so the player can restore his health at a moment he wants. Or how about missing hits or critical strikes? What about a little character sheet that appears after leveling up so a player can put points into maybe attack damage, more health or better health restoring. Most RPGs have that stuff because it makes the game more interesting so a player doesn't lose interest after playing it for 5 minutes.

For now it's a solid RPG, but it looks kinda work-in-progress for me since the gameplay is missing a lot of funny stuff that make RPGs good.

It's a nice casual game. Much better then I thought it would be when I opened it.

It's a really nice game, but I also found the lack of potions and variety dropping the overall rating. What did you make this in? MMF1.5, MMF2 or TGF? I'm also attempting a RPG, so it's interesting to know how you did it.

Anyways, really nice, but it could do with a touch of variety in the battles. Great to see this quality from my region. WORD UP SCANDINAVIA!

Eternal Entertainment;

Made with MMF2, though you could just as well make it with TGF i guess. The only thing is i use layers, but that could be worked around without to much trubble.

This was fun, and I kept playing until I defeated the Black Emperor. A lot of effort went into this, from the looks of it, and it's superb for casual gamers who want to just start up a game and crush a couple monsters. I've been toying with my own RPG combat engine recently, so this has been inspiring.

Nice job with the artwork; the enemy types are diverse and distinct. Is it all original, or did you take them from something else?

I faced every monster but the Poltergeist...anyone see those anywhere?

If you ever want someone to proofread your text before it goes into the final release, let me know and I'll gladly do it for you.

Good job. It's a good game, but not necessarily a great game, which is why I give 3 stars.

I would rate this higher, but it's kind of frustrating to have random encounter after random encounter and your health only increases when you take steps instead of increasing over time. I do like it as a quick diversion, but having to risk life and death with every single step because you have no way of healing? I had five random encounters with "Evil Trees" in a row, and I do mean in a row - one step right after the other.

As a tester and friend of Stefan it's amazing to see him whoop stuff like this up in a couple of days. I'm a huge fan of his graphics and love the way he's using a limited colourcount and still manages to make awesomelooking sprites. The gameplay is basic yes, but that's the point. Focus is set on exploration and leveling up with very little annoyance and distractions. In a way this game manages to be both hardcore and casual at the same time. Retro done right.

Bo Fu;
yep, that can happen. Its suposed to focus on a kind of "pick your fight strategy", running away is realy helpful in this way. Misses and criticals could spice this up as someone sugested. Yeah, but if you get five encounters in a row there is not much to do unless your realy lucky. To my defence i must say that i was never ever that unlucky even once during all my testplaying. Should i make the game agian i still woulndt add potions, thats not what the game was ever about.

Shroomlock;
Thank you very much for the review.

Yep, all original graphics by me.

Good for a while, but it does get extremely repetitive. Although solid, it lacks any depth.

Not very entertaining in my opinion, although it probably became what you aspired to make, so it was ok from that perspective. Your graphics are beautiful (though more directions of the hero wouldn't have hurt) and the music was decent.

Even though you say that items (that can be used at any time) and spells aren't what this game is about, I'd still say that they would have added a lot to the gameplay. After all, they are super standard "RPG" features.

I found it much too hard to escape an enemy battle, the risk of duying acttually felt higher when I tried to do that.

Overall, this game was pretty good.

That's nice, but we get far too many "Bread and Butter" genre studies in the world of click gaming. Usually the basic engine of an RPG is the most difficult part, so it's a shame there aren't some enjoyable gimmicks at least.

i don't really like it when games are deliberately trying to look (and sound) really old despite being made yesterday.

I know it was only made in a few days but I think people are rating this too high and in fact i think i'm rating this too high right now and its the lowest rating yet. I think the game is too simple to be legible to recieve over 2 stars, so in a way ive just rated this game 100% .

Are you kidding, many great games made this year were retro styled!

yeah but this one is very retro, you know with the square grid movement thing and the lack of animations of any kind. I'm sure there are lots of people on DC that like that kind of thing but I don't... usually.

Very good rpg^^ It should be better with more items, attack types, but anyway I like it.

I also noticed that people in the game speak about "Eratos" and "Julus", but when I read the road sign in these towns they are called "Itys" and "Dimoites". This is a little bit annoying, cause I looked for Eratos for a long time thinking it wasn't Itys.

I say: it can be cheated so I found it AWESOME! Do not misunderstand me but everyone of us have a style of play. Some prefere tough games where they die and die and die and die over and over just to kill that ultrauber boss. I find the fun in actually killing it in just two strikes.

Whatever... beside the fact I was even afraid when I opened this browser window and I feared of some Fly Plans shall come up, I give you the whole stars rating!

I love this game (and I still haven't finished yet heh )
