This is a side scrolling Action/RPG that takes place in ancient Attica, Greece. I've only began basic design elements, and a few cool tricks.

Numbers 1-9 activates different "wing power".
NumPad 1-3 activates the three stages of sword techniques (basic, but pretty cool none-the-less).

If anyone is interested in helping out on this game in any way possible, it would be welcome.

NOTE: This is an RPG I've started but have yet to finish. I'm looking for people willing to help design graphics for this game. Please see the website's news section for more information.

woooh pregnant viking angel

Posted by Rory Griffin 18th April, 2009

it's not a viking it's a Greecian, and it's a boy, so there is no pregnancy.

Looking good! The three sword combo move it nicely done and the gliding engine works well. My only comment is that his hair is a bit too long, he does look like a girl...

Wow, this is a great start, and already fun to play. Can't wait to see where you go with this.

I already have the world set up and ready to be edited. No levels or towns or dungeons yet. I would actually like ideas on how this project should go about. I want it to be an RPG type game, and I have a base method of leveling and other stuff, but didn't know if anyone might wanna contribute somehow. I like to know what people enjoy playing, and names will go in credits if your idea is used. This is also a game I intend on profiting off of at some point, so if your idea is used you get a share of the profit.

OH YEAH! If you wanna do character sprites or whatever, just let me know, you can totally redesign if you want. I wanna make this game totally BA so hit me up guys!

I want vikings!

Posted by Rory Griffin 18th April, 2009

Sadly I have my story set up already. There are a lot of references to the world of ancient Greece. Vikings will be another day. Besides, how does that armor look like vikings? I know, I know...it looks pretty Roman as well, but that's what happens when they're the neighboring country.

This looks awesome.

Looks pretty cool. I hope you make it into a full game.

It's nice, but make the character run faster it feels so slow

I have to agree with the running speed, the character running animation is too fast for the rate that you move. Either speed up the movement or slow down the animation so it looks more natural

This looks really promising, has a lot of potential especially with your setting and theme!

Reminds me Actraiser 2 on my old SNES. Looks cool!

Wooh, not bad. The movement was all pretty smooth, and the graphics were good.
To bad it's not a viking
This is a nice taste of what to come ahead. My major thing to change would be the doors or whatever. I would make them slightly more rugged and such. The square just seems kinda weird and doesn't fit the atmosphere... I LOVED the music
I gave it 3 because it's not much of a beta, no enemies or anything. But still, I can't wait to see more...

Definitely agree that it has potential, but it's obviously still a long way from completion right now.

I like the music too, but I'm not sure it fits - maybe too peaceful for a combat-oriented game (which I assume it will be, once there are some enemies).

And Klikmaster is right about the animation speed - it's funny that his arms and legs are pumping like crazy but he's just not going anywhere.

Not really anything else there to comment on.
Good luck

This is a solid engine, and the animation is fairly good. As people have said, increase the run speed...but I'm looking forward to what you make of this.

Love the engine and the early graphics are nice too. They fit the movements really well. I would love to see more.

OBVIOUSLY NO ONE ON THIS SITE KNOWS HISTORIC MILITARY STYLES! THIS IS NOT A VIKING!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU SEE HORNS AND FUR AND BEARDS?

No really guys, it takes place in Greece, who's military garb was similar to Roman gear at the time. The Vikings are a whole different world at that point in time.

You should put in an easter egg where you can play as a viking. Or put in an easter egg that says "FU IT'S NOT A VIKING"

Posted by OMC 21st April, 2009

Actually, horned helmets are a common misconception. Vikings wore conical hats...

Or so I've read somewhere or another.

I can see why people would think it's a viking..when i think about Greece, i don't think about people with blond hair

Game's pretty cool too, although it has a long ways to go
