Atrox Online is a free MMORPG being made in MMF2 for almost a year now.
While no further updates weren't released for quite some time, I've been still working on it from time to time, specially in the last 2 months.

Even though I can't recall everything that was added and changed in this version, here's a small list of some of the major improvements over the older version (0.14):

-Totally new Combat System (Now turn based)
-New Maps, Quests,Enemies, and NPCs
-New Soundtrack
-Performance greatly improved
-A huge load of bug fixes
-Switch to Lacewing
-And much more

Looking at the list it doesn't look like there's that many changes, but I'm sure you'll notice a huge lot changed since last time.

Also don't forget that it's still a beta so don't judge it as if it was the full version, even though this version is much more complete than the last one and now actually feels like a game and not some sort of interactive IM program unlike the older version.

Feedback is greatly apreciated, as always.

It's getting better!

oko was in game and suggested that you add a archery shop.

Also the rats at the beginning are a little harsh.

Fight, die, repeat.

Eventually I figured out that Jay could heal me, but even then:

Fight, almost die, walk to town, find jay, get healed, walk out of town, fight, almost die...

The game is running at about 27 fps for me, but there doesn't seem to be much going on. Can you maybe use HWA in future versions?

One word: Awesome.
BUT!

Some problems when re-entering the village, I end up in the upper left corner (so I'm stuck)

also, when entering and exiting village, sometimes, my health is fully restored (while I'm supposed to be low)

And yeah it does lag for me too (not connectivity lag, but the Framerate is low) Nonetheless, awesome.

Edit:Also, even if window loses focus, if you rpess the keys, it will affect the game

Thanks a lot for the feedback guies !

urbanmonk: mmh good point, I noticed the game can be quite hard at beggining, next version I'll make things a bit easier for beginners.

The transparent shadows and HUD seem to slow the game quite a bit. One of the last version before this one used HWA but it brought new problems and didn't solve the performance issues as much as I wanted so I thought it wasn't worth it. I'll have a go at optimizing the game a bit more, but in the meanwhile you can disable the shadows with the configuration utility, should be enough to get a slighly higher framerate.

AtomX: That bug was reported in the game forums so you're not the only having that issue which is odd because both me and the other guy working on the game with me can't seem to recreate the problem. I'll have a look at it though, I think I know where the problem is coming from.
About the health bug, well spotted actually I didn't notice it until you pointed it out.

I encountered no slowdown when I played, while Urbanmonk who was at the same place and time as me said he was having frame-rate issues.

My internet connection is 56k (dial up) and my computer has not been updated in years, I.E. my GPU does not even support pixel shaders.

And I think it's very likely that he has a better computer and internet connection that me, so I am curious: what the heck?!

Also, very polished, fun game!Image

When I died, I couldn't be sure, but it looked like "respawning" was spelled "respawing".

Would be cool that when you talk the text is also displayed above the characters head as in a speech bubble instead of in the bottom only. Other then that I had a great time and everything ran smoothly.. could not figure out how to do spells.

The spells confused me at first as well.

You have to learn the spell outside of battle.

Outside of battle? Ohhh I see

thanks everyone !

oko: eheh thanks for the heads up about the typo.

Rikus: At first that's what I had in mind, I used the balloon speech extension but it caused all sorts of bugs.
About the spells, yeah learning how to get and use them can be confusing at first, I'll write some sort of game manual for the game to be released within the next versions.

Finally got to try it out. I didn't get terribly far in, but from what I played it was certainly fun. I would recommend the ability to run away from a battle if the player chooses to. Also I don't think there was a sell button in the shop or blacksmith menu. I bought two daggers, 1 for each hand then remembered that the other was for the shield. I Now I've got an extra dagger to give away!

Keep it up, it's great so far!

Mediafire is blocked on my campus network. Can anyone provide a non-mediafire download, if possible? Torrent is also out of commission. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
