It's true they milk everything they can until it's dry, and even beyond that. All the sports games that are released ever year with mundane stuff stuch as player names updated, the multiple £20 Sims addons that either added shit that should've been there in the first place or took the game in a fucking rediculous direction.
Ive only read one of them havent finished the other. LMAO what a bunch of a-holes, i never did like EA, they released the same game year after year which were all average games.
wow i thought i was the only one who thought they were crap. industrializing games and all that.
i swear of i hear some little kid whisper "challenge eeeverything" one more time im gonna throw them off something very high... and i dont give a damn if they're not on TV

EA's own games have a tendancy to suck rather large quantities of semen. little wonder if their employees are treated like slaves. although as far as effects on me personally go, i hate Valve more because of steam.
FIFA football games are playable, but they're as buggy as hell.
take the new one, for instance, in my opinion the Off The Ball thing is utter shite, and pointless, and so is the first-touch thingy. Sometimes in can be handy, the rest of the time it's a load of bollocks.
JP: Me too, it's a great game. But the thing here is, EA is an evil ravinous shadow beast. I don't know the specifics of BF1942, but I imagine it was nearing completion in some tiny development house, EA saw it was the next best thing, they bought out the company, fired half the staff and boxed it. I don't know if that's what's happened with this, but it's the kind of thing they've done over and over again. That's why I hate them.
I'm sure they have talented staff from all over the place, but the vast majority of them are probably being forced to produce X Football 200X rather than something worth playing.
I hate EA most of all... They RUINED Burnout 3 (which I was looking forward to all year)
Burnout 3 should have been the greatest thing ever... but EA ruined it with their ridiculous menu systems, loading times over 1 minute (ps2 version)unable to restart a race quickly
and the MUSIC!!!! AHHHHHH
the "EA TRAX"
Wanna see something funny? look at the back of an EA game box/manual and try to count how many things they have "copyrighted" and trademarked
Hey the EA letters made it onto the G4TechTV's show "The Screen Savers," Kevin Rose actually defended EA until he found out that they got no overtime. EA released a statement saying basically that "shit happens."
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
I wasted £20 on fifa 2003 ive played it twice because its shite.
I liked EA games back in the day of the Mega drive.
Those weird cartdriges with the little yellow thing you can pull off. Um the games were sometimes good too because i loved fifa 97 on the mega drive and buck rogers, kings bounty, james pond 2 and 3. All EA games, games.
Oops - my mistake - in fact all the James Pond titles were EA games - I just had a look now.
A surprising number of Mega Drive games were EA's. Stuff like Road Rash, PGA Golf not to mention the countless numbers of Fifa's, EA Hockey's and Madden NFL's. Along with Codemasters, they are present on nearly all of my mega drive games.
Yes they did, and a company called Millenium actually made the game. I wonder if they still do stuff - or have they been eaten up by the Uber-Publishers?
Another example of EA's uber-shitness.
"Goldeneye" for N64 was created by Rare, then EA too over the whole Bond series of games and look what happened . They just have to go an ruin everything good.
Fuck EA and half of the industry. The only Decent guys to work for back in the day was GOD, now that was a truly good idea, it's too bad that corrupt fucks like EA and Co can only leech off what used to be a fun industry. I was once approached by someone from EA offering "incentive bonuses" and "other perks", and I told him "Fuck off, I ain't new in this industry, and while fucktards like you try to recruit the only hope for our industry (the newer generation of designers) and turn them completely against the industry or just code crunching monkeys; and making more than probably all the coders on all your fuckin' sports lines. You, sir, are the reason that our industry is stuck in a rut. Try listening to some of your programmers sometime, they have more brains in their asses than your entire management staff has in whole collective head."
Ah screw it, I'm going to learn some fucking Japanese and go work for REAL game developers, the one's who still have FUN while making games.
PS: At least Activision's getting what it deserves.

Yeah, but I think it gets the point accross how much I despise that company. They'd send recruiters to a grade school for christ's sake. Hell, I'm surprised they haven't shipped their developing out to china, where they can pay the little kids nothing and have them work long long hours, with zero complaining.
Maxis is a company that usually makes EA alot of money (not counting the Sims online), therefore Maxis can do pretty much what they want. And also, what little management punk is going to tell Will Wright to "hurry up his games?" Maybe Shigi Miyamoto could get away with that, but not the snot nosed little a holes at EA Management.
"Yes they did, and a company called Millenium actually made the game. I wonder if they still do stuff - or have they been eaten up by the Uber-Publishers?"
James Pond wasnt actually made by Millenium, they published it and I think they got bought by EA as I have James Pond 3: Operation Starfish (released 1993) for the Mega Drive and its published by EA not Millenium. James Pond was made by a developer called "Vectordean", the main guy behind James Pond, Chris Sorrell I think now works for Sony Cambridge (UK) who made Medievil on the PS One.
I just hate how they copy proof their games so extensively. If I buy a game I want to be able to play it with my roommate. I think they should put at least 2 CD-keys on their products.
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.
EA makes decent games. NFSU 1 and 2, The Sims 2, BF1942, RA2, the SimCity series. But I still hate them. Most of their games, although fun, are just plain shallow, and getting to be as shallow as possible. They're the very people who focus on the word 'industry' in "game industry". It's no longer become real entertainment, it's just yet another money-making industry to them. I hope they go bankrupt and I hope those back-breaking executives go to hell. Same goes for Atari/Infogrames. They fucking ruined X-Com (and took a lotta fun outta RCT)!
However, I'm not sure, but I think it goes that way in the game industry. Main reason I decided not to take a degree in Computer Science. It seems that the greediest capitalists will win in the game industry, or at least the people who love the job. But since Interplay's founder quit, I guess that just leaves the capitalists to reign. Games just don't make enough money as it is.
I think that all the problems in the game industry would be solved if only the game industry would just follow the path of all other media. You know, sell ads in games to commercial companies, sell licenses to make movies/action figures from games... that kind of thing. Which would be easily possible if they bothered to get PROPER game designers, instead of promoting the best (albiet uncreative) coder.
BTW, you do NOT want to work for Nintendo. Nintendo's probably the worst gaming company in the world. Only reason people like them is because they hate MS and Sony. They're far worse than anything else, but it doesn't show under the layers of cuteness.
Good companies are like Lionhead, Take2 (was it a 2?) Interactive, and the remnants was formerly known as Interplay. I'm glad the new Interplay's broke though.. serves them right for firing Black Isle, churning out that piece-of-crap Lionheart, and turning Baldur's Gate and Fallout into CRPGs.
The game industry sucks, and I'm glad that I chose to start on another path. Yet I shall be back one day... as a publisher or game designer... just as soon as the oppurtunity arrivese...

EA has published some good games... The two Lord of the Rings beat-'em-ups and Need for Speed come readily to mind. But they definitely need to go down. Their developers are talented but their management is hostile; they're trying to buy Ubisoft, the only company that can really look them in the eye, which is not cool.
Last time I had lobster, it reminded me of biology class. Except in biology class the professor didn't make you eat the frog when you were finished.
t's okay, cos EA don't publish or develop any of the best games. I know they do have some fun games, but I could easily live without them, the best games are to be found elsewhere.
