This game gives you much more freedom than in Rollercoaster Tycoon, you can craft your own pieces to bend the track into any shape you want. Then when you're done, you click the run button and your coaster is away! Each level will have a terrain, and various standards that need to be met.
You build the coaster by choosing the track type from one of several styles:
-Standard track
-Transport
-Lift hill (to pull the cars up a hill)
-LSM launch(to boost the cars forward)
-Cable launch(to boost the cars forward)
-Brake (to slow the car down)
-Holding brake (to hold cars stationary temporarily)
At the beginning of each level you are given a set length of each type of track to build up your coaster with.

Well, it's nearly a year since the last devlog, and no, the game still isn't finished. Things are a little tougher now, I'm working full time so finding time to work on the game is a bit more difficult.
Unfortunately I've switched production from MMF to XNA, but it's not all bad! The game is visually smoother and can handle much more going on on-screen.
Unfortunately, not too much has changed in the game visually. I'm just letting you know that the game does still exist and is very slowly advancing!
I think this is the first time i've actually shown a video which actually makes it look like a game. A Flying Coaster soars through the Fourwood Forest scenario! It's hard to see in the video, but the trees sway nicely in the breeze. Although the game supports up to 4 trains per roller coaster, this video only has a single train going around the track.
And it's taken an awful long time too! Yes, it makes the game a tad more complex to play, but the results are much more satisfying! Before, if you wanted to edit a part of the coaster near the beginning, you would need to backspace and delete all the coaster that comes in front of it. That was not fun. Not at all. You'd have to ruin a lot of work. Now you can just click the segment you want to edit, drag it around with the mouse, and drop it where you want!
Each track segment node has two handles. They control the angle that the track enters and exits that node. The video below will help explain this better than words can!
If you right click a segment of track, you'll get a few quick options to help you out along the way:
Smooth
Will try to predict the track shape you are trying to make, and smooth out the track!
Straight
Will make the section of track you're working with perfectly straight! This is almost impossible to do manually, unless you turn on snap-to-grid.
Split
Create a brand new segment of track. Out of nowhere! This is useful if you want to add a bit of extra coaster that you didn't think of before!
Advanced
This will open a new panel which allows you to edit the track by actually entering in custom coordinates and values. Very exciting, but most people won't really need this!
Delete
Every coaster segments worst nightmare! It effectively does the opposite of Split, and removes a track segment node.
I've been a busybunny working on the level editor recently, and it's more or less complete! All i need to add is the screen where you choose objects and stuff. When you've made a level you can either save it locally, or publish it to the online database where others can find and play it, get a high score and rate the level. There are different theming and landscape objects you can play around with so it should be fairly fun to play around with!
