Operation: Click Frenzy, or OCF, started when I got bored and loaded up MMF2, something I hadn't done in years. In any case, I started playing around with a mouse/trigger, and set up a couple weapons. I decided on making a shmup, only problem was the game was set up as a point and click, either top-down or Area 51/Time Crisis style. After toying around with the old-school games of the genre with the guys coming out behind windows, I had an interesting idea.
What if EVERYTHING was a window?
That's when I dropped any conception of realism and filled a bejewled-style grid with the "windows". The goal is to survive as long as possible by shooting the enemies wherever they appear. Survive for the time limit, and move on to the next level. Take lethal damage, and you're done for.
I plan on adding a lot of powerups, enemy variants, and weapons into this bad boy, but I can't spoil ALL the suprises.
Since I have nothing else to do (at least until Pheonix Games finishes their RnD for my card game), I hope to get something playable finished within the week.
