How to create a Storyline, by Dogzer:
Hi, my name is dogzer and i'm going to tell YOU how to create a storyline.
First of all, you probably suck at storylines, yeah you do.. ok but enough of truthness, lets get to the facts.
Step one, the PRELUDE:
You have to create 1 main character, you cant have a story with a main character the player will feel identified with, if you make 2 characters, you are literally making 2 games.
So the MOST important thing on a game is that the player feels identified with the character. If you dont make a character is 10 points less for gryfindor.
Step two, Why am i here?
Why am i here you may ask, the truth is that you are here for no reason, thatīs why you have to make up something. If you dont know why you are here, then you suck. take FPS for example, the reason no one plays fps games is because you go around shooting for no reason, thats why anime and rpg is the only stuff everyone plays.
So the main idea is to give the game a purpose, here are some options, i recomend you choose one of these and dont go trying to think up your own; trust me, it will do you no good.
choice a) Because the pirates are coming and you must defend the island, but then you join with the pirates to fight against the zombies from hell.
choice b) Because you need to save your best friend NOBUYUKI. He was walking around minding his own furry magazines when he is kidnapped by the Mob.
choice c) Because you need to take care of your grandfatherīs farm or else they will build a themepark on top of the town.
Anyway i think that should get you going.
I would tell you more but i'm not sure you apreciate my talent as a storyteller. I remember some 9 yr old kids that i was trying to teach how to tell stories, but they said "no, we already know how to make stories, go away", they of course never learned how to make stories, and now they are farmers.
