It seems that since my arrival to Dalnet's #k&p channel 5 1/2 years ago, something has gone ary. I cannot quite explained what has happened but it seems to me that channel rules have become quite a bit more concrete and the operators now have the channel visitors on a tight leash.

Many of the rules in #k&p are more than just, such as "no swearing", and "No harassing the operators" but these days, it seems the OPs have their own rule sheets and they'll kick people for making the smallest sexual reference, uttering the closest thing to a curse word or coming within the bounds of starting any sort of a argument in the channel. #k&p is still a quite fine channel that I visit quite often but I feel as if my conversation is regulated and must be kept within strict bounds while I'm visiting. I don't really like that feeling, so I went and created another Dalnet channel called #tgf. #tgf is a place where people are allowed to swear, converse with the channel operators, talk about what they regurgitated the previous night or the games each person is striving to complete. In a sense, #tgf is #k&p with the ability of freedom of speech. The operators are the only ones held under strict rules. Many of them are quite simple. Have a reason before kicking a person out, talk with people, and don't become power hungry. The same simplistic set of rules govern the users, that way no one feels as if the conversation must strive to include any certain topic nor should they worry about alienating themselves from the channel operators because, like everyone else, they mingle also.

Anyway, if you find yourself on Dalnet, try visiting #tgf as an alternatve to #k&p and see how you like it.
