We all want to make a good game here are the general things you should think of when you’re making one.

1 just thinking about the game
Write things down, everything what you think a good game needs has to be on that piece of paper! But not only the game, also characters and of course a story. When you’re just writing things down. Imagine how it would be when you’re actually playing the game. Isn’t it boring. Does the story match the game? All those things are important! What’s even more important: keeping real, don’t exaggerate.

2 Creating graphics
Think how many things you should draw, objects, characters, backgrounds. Can you handle it? Should other people help you? Also can you make characters walk, jump etc. Don’t forget directions and animations. And also keep real with it. Don’t plan to make tons of animations…

3 Gameplay + fun
Make it the user so easy possible to play the game. Not that the game should be easy, it should be a challenge. But the controls should be logical. Don’t let the character jump with Esc or shoot with Page up.. Also the player want’s to play, he doesn’t want to wait so make action in the game. And very special variation. Don’t use one enemy. Make it the player fun to play. Also very important. Keep the player happy. Make the game saveable and don’t make it to hard in the beginning. The game should be getting harder one’s you get further

4 Sound/music
Gather sound and (more important) Music. The player doesn’t want to hear nothing. Action simply has sound. Don’t use to many sounds in the game. I know that’s fun. But the game would get so very big, the player wouldn’t download it. So use sounds for shooting, jumping, hitting and enemies. But don’t make the sounds and music irritating. Find music that’s long. Not that the same song start over and over again every minute…

5 Programming
This is the most difficult part, you should program things you’ve tested before. So and look at tutorials. Make it a challenge! But don’t exaggerate. The first day you think is fun, the second day you don’t want to program anymore. So keep on going! See it as homework. Use deadlines. Don’t stop. After a month you don;t know what each counter does anymore. So keep on going!

6 finishing the game
Things not to forget:
- Title screen
- Menu (Not just buttons, make it special)
- Cheats (always fun)
- Help option
- Some extra information
- enemy list
- Story
- movies (if you can make them)

7 Uploading the game

Wait with that. Announce your game. Mail friends. Upload previews. Tell the world you’re coming with a game. Unless you don’t want people to download your game. But when you’re really uploading, find a reliable server. NOT GEOCITIES (I think)… Better is to make a site with some extra info!

8 Enjoy what you’ve made:
Answer questions, give hints tell people there will be a next part (if you really want to create it) Create a level editor or release and expansion pack! Just have fun! But also listen to the problems bugs and other things people post. Don’t be mad, thank them for their advice. When you’re scared of having to many bugs, make it a beta version

I hope I’ve helped you! 2 things NOT to do
- Exaggerate
- Stop programming (always finish the game, you’ve worked for it)

Yes, thit's the 2nd time I've post this article but there has been a problem so here it is again
