Getting games and applications made in Multimedia Fusion and The Games Factory has always beem a hard thing to accomplish for several different reasons:

- Restrictions on selling your games placed down by Clickteam
- Companies will not publish Click games as they see them as unprofessional.

In actual fact, half of the free games made with Click programs are better than the so-called professional ones published! In this article, I'm going to go over some of the different ways you could sell something that you have made in Click projects. Before that though...

The Games Factory

- You cannot sell games that you have made in The Games Factory. You need to purchase The Games Factory Pro.

The Games Factory Pro

- You can sell games made with TGF Pro but you are required to place a logo somewhere in your game to show it has been made with TGF.

Multimedia Fusion 1.5

- You can sell games made with MMF 1.5 but you are required to place a Fueled By Fusion logo somewhere in your game and on any retail boxes of the game.

Multimedia Fusion 1.5 Pro

- You can sell games you make in MMF 1.5 Pro without any restrictions.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get onto some of the methods you could use to sell your game...

Paypal

Paypal is a website that lets you transfer money from your credit card account to another person's account. This means that you have a way of getting the money for your game across, but still have to figure out a way to distribute the game.

Advantages:

- Easy to use

Disadvantages:

- Take a small percentage of all money that is sent through Paypal

Cafepress

Cafepress have recently introduced CDs to their product line-up, meaning you can put your game onto a professionally mastered CD and have it produced and distributed at no cost to yourself.

Advantages:

- Free and easy to use
- You get your project on professionally made CD-ROMs!
- Will accept any game as long as it is not infringing on copyright restrictions
- Get money from the sales

Disadvantages:

- Expensive shipping to international countries

Share-It

Share-It is a website which lets you sell shareware products over the internet.

Advantages:

- Easy to use
- Professional

Disadvantages:

- Download games only

iDigicon

iDigicon is a professional game publishing company that has been publishing games for years. It will publish nearly any game which is of a high quality.

Advantages:

- Professional game publishing company
- Your game will appear in stores!

Disadvantages:

- May not publish Click games

I would have liked a little more detail, but this is a start. Also, I think that you have to send a copy of the game off to Clickteam first so that they can check it over before release - I downloaded their guidelines ages ago, but have since deleted them.

I think you only have to send a copy of the game using the old MMF runtime agreement for MMF 1.2 Standard. I could be wrong though.

i would say the majority of the games i have seen in click are, well, crap.they provide 3 mins of play then i delete and disagree with the statement 'half of the free games made with Click programs are better than the so-called professional ones published' completely as i could name a handfull of click games i thoroughly enjoyed compared to countless games i have bought and enjoyed.
so sorry we dont share this view - however, i think part of the reason people click is to show what they can do and share there ideas- i dont think people would be willing to pay for games made in click.
BUT having said all this, the information u gave on the sites about publishing is very useful, so if some1 does manage to make a game worthy of publishing this is very useful.

Just remember that not all of the games made with Click products are listed on The Daily Click. Many Click users don't even bother with the community forums.

You don't need to put any logo in a game made with TGF Pro. Nice article though, if a little short.

a valid point robbie- i would like to c some well made games tho to show the limits of click? i think the most enjoyable click game i have played is 'that night before'. i would have paid moeny for that, but otherwise i cant think of any

This is from the runtime agreement of TGF Pro...

"5.1 The Licensee agrees to include the Logo on the splash screen or credit screen of the Application."

...unless you release the game for free, in which case no logo is needed. But then that doesn't apply to this article...

has it changed? That is very unusual because the runtime agreement I got with my purchase didn't state anything with runtime logos.
