As most users know, making an rpg is very difficult, it involves lots of complicated stats and moving values to other frames etc.

I have part of an rpg i was/am making. I stopped because my brain decided to stop functioning an getting the random battles seemed almost impossible and the menu screen was way more complex than i had anticipated.

If anyone wants to help i would apprieciate it. If not it may be intersting to look at.

You can most things you would in a normal top down rpg

Walk from room to room
talk to people
open item boxes
go to random fights (but it wont do anything)
you can even choose your party if you mess with the events.

I'm busy with an RPG too, with random encounters and a battle system.
My battle system is still very native: 1 character and two kinds of enemies, but it's easily expandable (if you understand the events). I can send it to you, if you'd like.

Oh wait. There's more. The system is ATB, like in Final Fantasy. The engine ain't perfect yet, either, but that makes it only better customizable so you don't use exactly the same battle system as I do (if you're interested, that is).

I'll have to modify and comment my battle engine first, so that it would be easier to understand. So I'll upload it in a few days or something.
Click below for the things in my engine.

Of course I downloaded your game and it looks nice! I'd really like to see it finished.

The battle system will run great if you use the data storage object (you don't need it for my engine).

Arrays are fine, too, but not recommended because Data storage is MUCH easier to load and save and modify. You can also store 37 strings (player names and stuff) in this object.

I sent it to your DCmail.

This thread was 'continued' using DCmail. So don't go thinking nothing happened here.
