Im posting this mainly because I'm sick of broken links to hosts like Freewebs, Fortunecity, Angelfire and Geocities. In all honesty they are complete shit! If your reading this and you use one of these very shoddy hosts then I can suggest Sitesled, www.sitesled.com (100meg, Easy to use, Direct Linking, Everything else)If you know any other high quality Free web hosts then post them here for the people that dont so theres less broken links.

Better idea: either pay for a host or ask someone nicely and they might host you. My host is the friend of the host of one of my friends. I asked her nicely and now I have practically unlimited storage and bandwidth for free.

i like angeltowns.com. It has no ads, unlimited bandwidth, direct-linking, but only 50mb (like anyones going to download a click game over 50mb anyway). Its got a nice easy system for uploading stuff if like me you have no clue what ftp is (i think its some way of uploading stuff - if not, disregard previous statement). It seems pretty reliable too - Ive never known it to be down anyway. dont know if its any better than sitesled, but its pretty good.

FTP is uploading from a third party source. From a program like SmartFTP, CuteFTP, you can even upload to FTP supporting hosts in MMF, I'm doing it for ArcaneTale & its working out pretty nicely.

In vain I still try to tell people to use their ISPs: http://www.create-games.com/article.asp?id=651

You already pay your ISP for net access, and as part of the payment you are probably also given some free webspace. So most people effectively have paid hosting already - often ISP hosting is really good quality too - and it would be ludicrous to not use it. My ISP doesn't bat an eyelid if I transfer 5gb bandwidth in a week.

Well, maybe if you're using AOL you don't want everyone to see your gay Hometown URL.

If you need PHP, I found that http://dhost.info/ is pretty good. They aren't as reliable as Sitesled, but you can get extra space by requesting it on the forums. Stock you get: 100mb space, 300gb transfer, no ads, and a MySQL database. I mainly use Sitesled because its a tad bit faster and slightly more reliable, and I only use DHost for my forums...

I'm setting up a server right now. It will be able to run all day. Hopefully I'll be able to host some websites.
