I am working on an RPG at the moment, which has real time battle sequences: it can perhaps best be called a cross between the Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana for the SNES- the style is top-down. I would like some help on the Enemy Design front, and several other animations. I have already designed a large portion of the graphics, but it would be useful to have some help with designing the enemies of the game. Most of them are fictional creatures, but some of the enemies are human.
The graphical style is of many games of the SNES era: it features the main sprite, and the main colour contrasts are outlined with black, to give it a solid look. Assistance in making this game would be much appreciated, and if anyone is able to help, please post here. I will hopefully send you an example of the sprites that I have already designed and animated, so you can get an idea of the graphic scale, and the style.

My rating may be newbie, but I have been making games for just under 4 years, and built up a body of knowledge. The game engine is up and running already, and works very well. However, the help on enemy design would be very much appreciated.

Your rating only says newbie because your one of the few members who didnt decide to spam DC there first day, just to raise it. Your rating has nothing to do with how good of a game designer you are.

Yeah, but you its still important to SHOW your experience. Whether this means uploading some of your previous projects or showing us your current engine or graphics. People dont want to spend their time on something for a complete stranger if they feel confident it will pay off.

Good luck finding an artist!

Thanks very much for the advice. I will hopefully be able to upload something here, although I am not quite sure how I would do this without annoying anyone: the graphics for the game have been developed, but the actual level layout has not been, so I do not think adding this as a preview would be a good idea.

I have two screenshots of my original idea here. This was the predecessor to the game I am working on now, but I gave it up, because it didn't leave enough scope for development. i.e. levelling up, and things. These two screenshots will hopefully give anyone interested an idea of the graphical style for the latest game.
The original game was made with The Games Factory, but now that I have MMF 1.5, the special effects and graphics promise to be a lot better.
Here is the link to the screenshots.

..or you could just shade it so much that you can't see the objects

Hmmm... shading... how do you mean?
The new game's graphics are better, in that the special effects and environment are more detailed and more plentiful. However, the characters look quite similar to that which you saw in the screenshots.
However, I think that the strength of the game is its engine- there are a number of elements of gameplay that I do not think have been attempted before using any Click products.
By the way, does the DirectShow object work on all computers, provided they have it, because it is plays an important role in the music and audio, and managing it.

Jeez, no one has replied to the request... It would not be a demanding exercise! Just basic enemy animation!

Heheh, thanks. The monkey was one of the most annoying enemies in the old game, who had the choice to either pelt you with stones or just jump at you.

If you tell me what you want I could give it a try, however I do not guarantee for anything and will not be able to guarantee after I see your sprites. I'll just try! Sorry, but I'm not experienced to take the "risk".
