Technically it still is pixel art, but an interesting style to be sure! I like it, especially the fakey 3D lighting effect. The lighter outline lines in some parts(above the ear, around the eyes) sort of ruin the effect, but thats ok.
If you dig pixel art you should definately check out Pixel Joint, and awesome place to post your arts and get some feedback, plus theres a forum section:

looks really interesting, why don't you try out "real" 3d art?
At first glance i thought it was a 3d model, a low polygon one of course. Looks pretty funky.
Ive tried to do a few rocks in that style before but they never look convincing.
